does anyone suffer from cluster headaches. this past week i have been awoken with this excrutiating pain on one side of my head, i cannot lay still i have to keep moving , i even went as far as to bang my head against the wall, the pain starts in my neck and travels up to the back of my eye and left side of my forehead, its a horrible burning bruiing type feeling but the pain only last no longer than 45 minutes at a time they usually awake me from sleep and then i may have 1 or 2 after waking for the day and then im ok until i go back to sleep at night, last night i was afraid to go sleep, i had these 4 years ago but they went away after i became pregnant and i thought i was in the clear and then last sunday they started again....just looking for someone else who has them to talk to because the pain is unbearable i can barely cope, i have been lucky enough that my husband has been home when i have gotten them because i do not want my kids to see my freak out the way i do when i have them, i look like a mental patient thrashing and screaming about......thanks for listening

What can I do next?

I haven't had cluster headaches, but I have had migraines. These things are usually really treatable. See your family doctor--he/she may refer you to a neurologist to get a full work-up on your symptoms. They can give you medicine to take at the time of the headaches to make them stop, or, if they are persistent, they can give you a preventive medication to stop them from happening in the first place. Good luck.

go to the chiropractor, they are not the "quack" doctors like everyone thought they were years ago.

i had lots of problems and i go to a chiropractor on a regular basis and have not had any of my problems since.

my mom used to get migraines all the time, she goes to the same chiropractor i do and she hasn't had a migraine since she started the chiropractic program 3 years ago!

here's their website so you can get some more information on what a chiropractor actually does; www.correctivechiro.com

good luck, wishing you a pain-free day!

I got them alot before I became pregnant. I truly believe it comes from the neck being out of alignment, only reason being... I have gone to my chiropractor in major pain and after he cracked my neck, it was gone.

Give it a try, it can't hurt, and may take it away.

Hi C.,

Let me ask, you said that you have headache but do you have any of these symptoms? Dizziness, nausea, vomiting, Tinnitus (ringing in the ears), or a "rushing" sound in the ears, visual symptoms that include transient visual obscurations, general blurriness, or spots or ocular pain, particularly with extreme eye movements?
