Seeking Recommendation for Exersaucer or Other 'Stationary Entertainer'

I'm curious to learn more about ExerSaucers, jumperoos, or other stationary entertainers that moms have tried. Which ones have you used? Which ones did you like and why or dislike and why? What, developmentally, should a baby be able to do before using something like this or are there any age guidelines? I'm not interested in any jumpers that 'clip' to doorways, nor am I interested in any 'walkers with wheels'.

Is There a Limit to Babyproofing Your House?

I have a 12 month old son who has been walking for about 3 weeks now and here's what we have so far: stair gates, table edge foam guards, and cabinet locks. We have a very minimalist interior decor so there's really nothing else to baby proof. However, in the past 2 days, my son has had 2 major bangs on the head from the edge of the bathtub and from the window ledge. Walker V. Exersaucer

Ladies, our five month old loves to "stand" and to "pedal his feet". He isn't happy in his swing, insists on being upright, and hasn't managed a crawl. I'd love a walker, but I remember hearing these were dangerous. A bit more about us. we live in a 2 bedroom apartment. with all hardwood floors. There are no stairs to contend with.
