kids and hubby, is there any hope at all that someone would call the number on it and return it? wiht the pictures intact??

I was on the phone tyring to see where hubs and the kids were, and had a bunch of junk in my hands i went to grab some extra candy to leave in the bowl and all I cna thik of is that my little nikon cool pix got left in the bowl. We visited iwth the neighbor for 20 mins plus the 10 min walk down the block and the bowl was empty and I"ve looked everyother place i can think of.

it was pitch black and raining hard the whole night, plus i was trying to keep the dog calm and i am not a good mulit tasker.

Do you think there is any hope?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I wasn't clear, I was at home in our garage passing out the candy when hubby called and as I was talking to him, I was cleaning everything up from the garge and movingit to our front porch and i think I put the camera and an extra pair of gloves in the bowl and took the gloves out and then refilled the candy but stupidly left the camera in with the refilled candy.

so the camera was in the bowl I Left on MY porch for any kids that might come while I was meeting up with DH and the kids.

IT was the end of trick or treating so i wasn't even sure anyone else was going to come, but i had extra candy, so i left it out.

I can't believe i was so stupid.

I doubt you will see the camera again, but if an honest, moral person found it there is hope.
What a bummer!

Aww! If you left it in my bowl and left, I'd keep it safe, call you, etc. If you left it in your own bowl, I'd certainly hope the camera was left somewhere. A nice possibility would be that someone didn't want you to get it stolen and they took it so other trick or treaters wouldn't steal it, or to keep it out of the rain for you, and will phone or return it to you today. There is a little hope...BUT if your whole candy bowl is empty after 20 minutes, you may have had someone older steal all the candy AND the camera. :(

So, we lost our camera at an amusement park and someone turned it in and then the park mailed it to us....then the package got stolen from our porch....so I will wish you good karma on this one as I have seen both sides.

If my kid came home with a Nikon Cool Pix with a contact number on it in his treat sack, of course we would call ! AFTER a discussion about how no O. gives out cameras for treats! Lol

If a parent with a child saw it and the parent wants to teach a life lesson--you will get it back.

I would go back to the house tomorrow and ask them if they found it and took it inside for safe keeping. Probably not but I'd feel like I'd made every effort.

You are not an idiot!

So it looks like you left your camera in your own candy bowl and someone took it? or you might have grabbed a hand full and tossed it in someones bag. If it was mistakenly handed out with candy then you have a good chance of getting your camera back. If you left the bowl out and someone took it as well as some candy then no they stole it and arent planning to give it back. UNLESS momma goes through the candy some time soon and finds the number on the camera because I sent my kids to the door and waited on the sidewalk (they are 4 and 2 ). I could totally see my 2 yr old doing this and not saying a word..the 4 yr old would have been loud about it. There is a website and I believe its called found your camera.com or something to that effect. I think orphan photos.com has a link or post secret . blogspot. com has a link once in a while.

**** Or if the bowl was left out and a kid picked up the entire bowl and slid all the candy into there sack....then you might get a call in the next couple of days!!!

Maybe stick a sign out by your yard "missing camera"...

Is the phone number CLEARLY VISIBLE? If there is a chance no one will see the number then a mom who sees their kid with it will simply ask the kid: What house did this come from? And kid may not remember.
So... if there is any chance the phone number could be overlooked, I'd stick a sign out so any parents making an attempt to figure out who the camera belongs to will have a chance to find you.

I'm sorry to say, but it's probably gone. I've noticed when it's toward the end of the time for trick-or-treating it's usually older kids going around to get that last piece of candy - so, my guess would be they saw the camera and took it. I would still check around the yard, garage, etc., or even take a walk up and down your street. You never know, they may have dropped it.

Hopefully you didn't have any incriminating photos on there!! lol!!

Good luck!
