Baby's Feet Not Grown

My daughter is 6 months old and has really tiny feet. When I compared them to her footprint at birth, I can't tell if they have even grown any longer, only chubbier. She has outgrown some socks, but i think it may just be because her feet are much chubbier than they were when she was born. How much do feet normally grow? Has anyone else had a baby with this?

What can I do next?

Welcome to the land of small, chubby feet. I'm 57 and can wear a 3 1/2 girl's and some 5's for the width. I like New Balance and they carry my wide size. Here in Austin the only store I can find is Karavel and they really like them so I can only get a new pair once or maybe twice a year. The only dressy shoes I've found were in an antique shop and my grandmother's shoes. It runs in families. My dad wears a boy's 6 1/2, he's 83.

My daughter had tiny feet up until this past 2 yrs. & she is 4 1/2 now. She would always fall!!! We just made a joke that her feet were not big enough to hold her up because she would just tip over!!
Now, her feet her bigger than other kids her age.

Always remember that those charts & guides are just there to be there in my opinion. One day, doctors will realize that every child is different and develops differently.

Just enjoy her!

I'm with the PP about all kids being different. Heres one for ya...my DD, who was 8lbs and some change at birth, never did fit into 0-6 months. She is almost two, is in the 50% for height and weight and wears a tight size 7 and a big 8!!! She, like her father, is all feet!!! (shes got pretty good-sized meathooks on her, too) Point is, they are all different. Do you and your hub have small feet? Or, at least small feet as infants? That could account for some of it. I'll bet those dogs will shoot out after you buy a few pairs of shoes!!! LOL

Well, I have an almost 8 month old boy and while I know his feet have grown because he has outgrown some of his socks, I just bought him a 6-12 month size in Robeez shoes and they were huge! I have to take them back and exchange them for the 0-6 month size. I guess I'm saying that, just like everything else, they are all different and will grow at different rates. Has she outgrown any of her socks? If so, I wouldn't worry about it. For your peace of mind, you could mention it at her next doctor appointment, but I don't think I would worry enough to schedule anything or call about it. That's just me though, so do whatever you're comfortable with.

Some kids just have small feet. Both of my girls feet are not only small but slow to grow. For instance...my 11 year old daughter just moved into size 1 childrens shoes this year. She spent two years in a size 13.5 toddler shoe..

When she is much older if her feet are super small or if she exhibits problems with walking you should seek a physician's advice, but for now I would say just love and cuddle all of her small part, they grow way too fast and before you know it they are graduating from high school...

Every child's feet grow at a different pace. My daughter just turned 4 and she wears a size 11 shoe. Her friend is almost 5 and wears a size 8 shoe. So, I wouldn't worry.

My daughter has always had tiny feet too. They only seemed to get chubby. She wore 0-3 month shoes until she was almost a year old. I wear an 8 and a half, so I just figured she was destined to large feet. However, my sister-in-law has tiny feet and maybe she'll take after the other side of the family. Anyway, just to let you know, she's 15 months old now and her feet are definitely growing. She's now growing out of her second pair of shoes. She still has small feet though. I really wouldn't worry about it.

It should be about time for her 6 month check-up so that's something to be sure to have him check out. The doctor will know what her growth should be.

My son turned one this past week and he is in 24 month old clothes. How fast is the rest of your daughter growing. Is she in 6 month clothes? Is it smaller? My son was in 8 month clothes at 6 moths age. I think it depends on how she is growing. It seemed like his feet werent an issue. We have gone threw the sizes over this year. I am sure she is fine. If you are really consirned ask your pedi next time. They always ease the mind. Congrats on your baby girl.

I wouldn't worry about it right now. My boys only went up one sock size in their entire first year. Now, I'm buying new socks and shoes almost every 3-4 months!

You should not have anything to worry about. I know when I was a baby my mom said I had tiny feet. I was a tiny baby when born weighed about 5 pounds and something, and then when I was 1 years old I was in a 1 1/2 walking sure, and I did not even start walking til I was 18 months.
