Acupuncture for Infertility

I'm wondering if anyone has does acupuncture treatments to treat infertility. I have read some studies and they seem to be promising. My husband and I have been trying for baby number 2 for 15 months. During that time we've done pretty much every type of infertility treatment - clomid, inseminations, shots, etc. and have had no luck. Our only other option at this point is invitro, and I'm not ready to do that yet. I'd love to hear from you if you've tried acupuncture and if you've been successful or not. Does anyone have any...

Radiation for Cancer??

Hey mamas, To make a long story short, about month ago, my then 5 month old nephew had a cancerous tumor removed in his right kidney. They have started chemo and have been doing it for two weeks now. The cancer was a stage three and now they are talking about going through radiation. They aren't sure if the cancer is still there, but for stage three they offer it. Pros of radiation- could get rid of all the cancer. No guarantees. Cons of radiation- could cause infertility, loss of growth in his torso, etc Pros of no radiation- won't...

Endometriosis and Fertility

My question is does anybody out there have endometriosis, and what has trying to get pregnant been like for you? We have not really tried, but we do not use protection and yet nothing has happened yet. Some of my friends say I should go to a fertility doctor now before we really try and get a work up? I know years ago one of my doctors said that there is no way to tell, for me, if it will be hard or easy. He said I have a lot of scar tissue from the endometriosis, so he said until I try there is no way to tell. Is this true? Just wondering...

Uterine Fibroid Embolization

Firboid history: I was very sick and had to have an emergency myomectomy back in 2001 to remove 8 fibroids that were located outside of my uterus. They grew back and were bothering me by 2005. In 2005, the tumors were located on the outside of my uterus and inside the uterine wall. We had to rush to the fertility doctor to try to get pregnant before the tumors got worse. We got pregnant with a double-IUI in November 2005, and I had my daughter August 2006. The tumors are now back with a vegence . . . my ultrasound report shows that I...

Desperately Seeking in Vitro Advice

Hi, I have a good friend who has been trying to get pregnant for the second time for a while now. She has tried everything and is at the point of in vitro. Does anyone have any advice on what will help her have success with in vitro? She has been debating over accupuncture (but she got sick from it last time), massages or reflexology? She is nervous that with any of these treatments there maybe adverse effects. Any first hand experiences, good or bad, will be very helpful. Thanks!

Fertility questions/Insurance Coverage

My insurance doesn't cover infertility, even something as basic as blood work to test hormone levels. Does anyone know of a facility that is low cost for out-of-pocket fertility expenses? We are at the beginning stages of just making sure the plumbing works. Any information would be appreciated.
