Need Advice About Losing Weight

I have been doing the Richard Simmons Food mover and have lost 11 pounds, great! However, I've been doing it since December 1. I eat about 1200 calories a day usually alittle less I don't have a daily exercise routine, but I clean houses for 6 hours everyday. Someone told me that the richard Simmons plan is outdated & maybe that's why it's not working well. I have to agree that it's outdated alot of foods aren't in the books. It's frustrating! I need to lose like 50 lbs more. I am open to any & all suggestions. TIA

About to Be Referred to Pain Management Specialist

My doctor has been unable to help me control my pain. I take a Depo Medrol shot every two weeks and it lasts about one week. I take other daily pain meds and Celebrex. I did not want to do pain management, but am now desperate as the pain brings me to tears. Here is the dilema... I got a referral to see the pain management doctor, but upon investigation and word of mouth from one of his previous patients I find that he is rated quite poorly. One review said if they could give him a negative number they would. I have printed out all...

Exercise Options for Obese MIL with Bad Knees and Arthritis

My sweet mother-in-law's body is a mess. She is about 200 pounds overweight, diabetic, has arthritis in most of her joints, and her knees are so bad that her doctor said they are "bone on bone". She cannot have knee replacement surgery because of her weight--it would only last about a year the doctor says. I'm certain she is eating healthier than she used to, but she does not exercise--even walking hurts. I believe water aerobics would be the best thing for her; however, she says she has to do it in a pool that does not have stairs for...

Endometriosis After Hysterectomy

Has anyone had or has endometriosis? I have had it for 8 years, and I thought my battle with it was over when I had a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy back in July of 2005.But since then I have been put on several different hormonal patches and medicines to control the night sweats and hot flashes. So far I've been to several GYN's and an ER, everyone seems to just want to give me pain meds, which is just a temporary fix, any help would be great thanks

How Do You Start a Diet?

I've never had to diet before. Before my first son, I weighed 110 lbs. After he was born I did nothing to lose the weight. (big mistake and I hated the way I felt) Then I got pregnant again and I'm determined to get back in shape! My question is, How do you start a diet? Is there a diet out there that is better than another? How do you stick with it? Any suggestions or tips would be great!
