Looking to Buy a New Mattress.
Our current mattress is 10 years old and needs to go! I have looked into the sleep number bed but a I am also considering the Simmons Beauty rest ( a traditional spring). Any advice would be appreciated as I am overwhelmed by the choices and feel pressured by sales associates. I am looking for a queen size that can withstand the jumping of my three year old. I also don't want to wake up every time my husband turns over during the night.

I love my Select Comfort! We've had it for 10 years. Now my mom and some friends have one too. They all love it! It's not at all "gimmicky". Each side of the bed can be adjusted to exactly how the sleeper likes it. You don't feel the other person moving around. It was great when I was pregnant...I was able to change it as I grew and got MORE uncomfortable. The bed DOES take a while to get used to (that's why they give the satisfaction guarantee for a time period). You have to figure out what numbers are best for you. I hope that helps.

We bought a Simmons Beautyrest when we got married 4 years ago. I did NOT like the sleep number bed or any of the other gimmicky beds (air bed etc). I thought the tempurpedic beds were ok if you like that sort of thing, but they were so much more expensive and we were happy with the Simmons. As the sales people for Simmons will tell you, the springs are independent of one another, which is different from some other mattrasses, so when one person moves you don't really feel it. We're really happy with our bed.

We have the Sealy Beauty Rest World Class - http://www.simmons.com/products/brands/beautyrest/worldCl...
It's amazing and even though our 2 1/2 year old tends to climb and jump - there isn't really the "rebound" factor (she doesn't bounce all over in every direction). My husband wakes up very early for work and it's not a drastic noticable movement at all. Hope this helps! (btw: my neighbors had the sleep number and hated it so they went out and got the beautyrest classic set.)

Buy a Tempurpedic, you won't feel your husband move and your 3 yr old won't be able to jump on it (no springs).

My husband and I bought a sleep number bed when I was 3 months pregnant. Let me tell you, it is great! I do not feel when he is in bed. You can make it as hard or soft as you want it. My 7 year old does not like jumping on it as much as our other bed because there are no springs to bounce her back. My sister has a temperpedic bed, but I do not like it because sometimes I need something firm to sleep on. Also, when you lay down on it you just sink in. I have not had any back pain since we got the sleep number bed. I used to wake up every day with back pain and I would see the chiropractor. Well worth the money! My parents have had thier sleep number bed for over 10 years now and they still love it.

I got a tempur-pedic bed about two months ago and it is wonderful! Well worth the money. I wish I had it while I was pregnant. You won't even know your husband is in the bed with you, the wine test you see on tv really is true. I think they even have a bed that has a sleep number system with the tempur-pedic top, so you get the best of both worlds.
