Hi all. I have a 16 month old little girl who is my whole world! I think i am preggo again. We weren't trying so it's a bit of a shock. We always knew we wanted more than one but this is closer than i had planned. I am hoping for some of you to share your success stories of having them this close. How do you divide your attention? My lo is still a baby to me, how do i get her ready for such a big change. I am not sure when she is capable of understanding what's going on. she and i have so many more milestones to go through (terrible two's!), how do u take care of an infant at the same time? I know many of you have done it so please share, share, share. thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I had mine eighteen months apart (3 months ago) and it's been easier than I expected. My eldest seems to be adjusting easily and she really loves her little brother! If you can swing it, having help for as long as possible seemed to make the transition easier for her, so she had some time to get used to me splitting my time.

Well i have 2 they are 13 months apart {close i know} and it was a little hard with my first child getting to share all of her attention with this new baby, but after a few weeks she got use to it she wanted to help change diapers, wash the baby, brush the baby's hair etc.... They are now 5 and 6 and they are the best of friends now!! she is very protective over her little brother and they help each other with everything.just let her be apart of your duties for the baby and everything should be fine. Good luck and congrats on your new bundle of joy.

My boys are 23 months apart. In my case, my first pregnancy was so hard we hadn't decided about the second yet... until I got sick, was put on antibiotics and well you know the rest. I find it was a blessing in disguise. PJ just knew. He couldn't wait for a baby. They although still very young are just the best of friends. You'll be surprised, your little girl will understand better than you think she will. There are lots of books you can read to her to help get her ready. Get her a shirt saying "I'm the big sister". I personally really like them having each other in the house. I don't think I would ever get the dishes done otherwise. Yes the beginning will be hard but worth it. Get your husband to shop. Two in the grocery store was always the worst. Congrats! You'll be fine.

When reading this I think of Proverbs 3 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding". The words "Do Not Fear" are written over 365 times in the bible.
I had some degree of anxiety with my first three. How I wish I had more wisdom and just enjoyed each moment. Life is such an incredible gift. We were blessed to have received a fourth child in our lives and we gave everything to God in having him...it was an amazing journey.
No woman would regret having her child once holding him/her in her arms.
Enjoy each moment. Love your husband as a gift as well and you will be many times blessed. Your children are the fruit of your love for each other and a mirror of the love that God has for each of us!
Start thinking positively. It is the terrific twos. Enjoy all their milestones. Keep a journal of blessings. Look at all the good in your life and keep that in focus.

God Bless!

You'll get through it.:-) Mine are 16 months apart and it's difficult in the beginning so you have to include the oldest and have her help you but eventually they will get along and start to play together.
