Seeking Advice on Fitness Classes

How often do people look to their Park District to take exercise classes? Is it better to look through a fitness center or community center or privately owned places? I teach the class on the Tupler Technique at a Park District (trying to be vague to comply with rules!) I noticed that when they did a newspaper article on the class a year ago - there was a huge response. Now, however,I know the Park District sends out the booklets, but for our class now there is no further promotion. Just wondering if there is a good way to get in touch with the moms who are interested?? I noticed Craig's list doesn't have an applicable category for that. Any ideas? Thanks

What can I do next?

Hi B.,
I live in Alsip and had a membership to the open gym or coed gym. They give you a little orientation about all the machines, etc.. and that was only $55 for three months. I plan to get back in there soon but may do that and pay for one session with a trainer. The Women's Gym is okay but its smaller and doesn't have all of the machines that the coed gym has and the hours are shorter. That's the reason I went with the coed gym. I love it and I went 3x a week. Yes, I did have that first initial reaction of hey my body is not like Beyonce everyone is going to be looking at me... NOT people were there to work out and I appreciated that... I never took any of the classes cause they are only I think once a week and I would get very lazy and wouldn't do anything else. :)

I always look at my park district, but that's all I do is look! Maybe a free preview night might be helpful, because a lot of people want to exercise but are afraid to join classes because they are unsure of what to expect. That's mostly my problem. Or if it's hard to schedule a preview night let the community know that a woman can come in once during a regular class to check it out. I think that might be particularly helpful with a class on the tupler technique because not many people know about it and how it works.

Why don't you just post the info on here? maybe explain what the class is and where they can access it. I think some of the instructors at the park district may also teach at the local health club. What about giving fliers to local obs or hospitals that offer birth prep classes? Or even contact the maternity wards to run the class through them?

I definalty think the free class offer would be good. I see these classes offered at my park district but am scared that if i sign up for them i wont like them, or there isnt many people that go. I would love to go check it out first before i enroll myself in the program.
