Hi, Ladies!

I goofed yesterday! I have a cotton shirt that I hang to dry and in my haste I just threw it over the shower curtain rod instead of getting a hanger and doing it properly. I just got it down and it has rust stains spotting a good part of the front.

Any suggestions on how to get them out? This is one of my favorite shirts and I would like to salvage it!

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Saturate the rust with lemon juice and sprinkle with salt, then lay it in the sun. If this doesn't work, re-apply lemon juice and salt and pour hot or boiling water through the stain, or as hot as the fabric will tolerate. Also try covering the stain with cream of tarter, then gather up the edges of the fabric and dip it in a bowl of hot water. Let it sit for 10 minutes and then wash as normal.

I like Whink rust stain remover. It is in a small brown plastic bottle and you get it in the cleaning isle. Test on small area. Good luck.

I've not had any personal experience with rust, but I've had tons of luck with other stains and the OxyClean spray you can buy in the laundry aisle.

Good luck and have fun with VBS!!

Spray the spot with Tub n Tile and let it sit. Then wash with Mela Power and Mela Bright. This works great and there are no chemicals, toxins or fumes!!

Good luck!!
