I need help with picking out a sewing machine I want something simple but yet something that will last. Any ideas. I also don't want to spend too much money on it.

What can I do next?

I just got a new sewing machine for christmas from my husband. He got mine from WalMart, it is a singer and I think he paid like 90 something for it but it is so easy to use! I am not the worlds best sewer so for me this was the best one that I found for me to use.

I also have a Brother machine from Walmart that I just got. I paid close to $100 for it but I needed a triple stitch feature for my business sewing. If not for that I would have gotten a cheaper model. My previous machine was also a Brother from Walmart and it was great, never had any problems!

I bought one of the basic Elna models at the State Fair a couple of years back and I LOVE it. My mom had an Elna for about 25 years that was my grandmothers and it still works to this day.

If you can hold out for the state fair, they usually have some really great promotions going on there.

I have a Brother that I got at WalMart. I am new to sewing. It is simple enough for me to use, but Brothers are a great brand. My Aunt has one that used to be my grandmothers and it is still stitching!

Does anyone know where you can get sewing lessons? The Joann's by me never has classes. I am not looking to sew miracles, just want to learn the basics.

I would seriouly try and find a older used Husqvarna. They are really good machines last a person a lifetime. They are also usually very simple straight forward machines. I have one from the 50's a nice avacado colored metal sewing machine and i love it. Couldnt stop that thing with a frieght train.

I bought the best Brother they had at Walmart. I think it was $199. I love it! It has lots of stitches and works like a dream.
Happy Sewing,
