I need your help ladies......... We have this brand new wooden dining room table thta we have not used at all. About 3 weeks ago i had my cousin and her kids come over to visit me( i was on bed rest for 6 weeks till now) Her kids decided to grab some Sharpie's permanent markers and some other highlighters to draw som pictures wich went throught the paper and yup ended up on our brand new table. Oh and they also got some orange highlighter mark on one chair it is micro-fiber material.
How the heck can i get those stains out? Is it too late since its been weeks, i just noticed it untill now since i can up and be around the house now. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. thanks.

What can I do next?

The EXACT same thing just happened to me a few weeks ago on our new wood table that was less than one week old (with a Sharpie marker, too). I couldn't find anything to take it off so I tried Soft Scrub. While it did take the marker off of the wood, it did dull the wood where it was applied. I don't think anyone can notice it as it's really only noticable in the sunlight if you are looking for it. I also got to the stain within a few minutes...not sure if that would make a difference or not.

I can't believe your cousin isn't offering to help you fix this. It was HER kids that SHE wasn't watching!! If it were me in your cousin's place, I would offer to replace the furniture even if it meant having to pay for it over time on credit.

Hi Lisa, I am not sure if it will work, but you could try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I have used this to get stains out of just about anything you can imagine. Good luck and I hope you can get the marer off of your table.

Try making a paste of table salt and lemon juice. Scrub it in and let it sit on the stain for at least 10 min. It should definately work on the fabric, I'm not sure about the wood but it's worth a shot. This mix will also take out rust, blood, grass and other tough stains. Good luck!

Try Magic Eraser or Goo Gone. That works for everything in my house.

I am a teacher and I also used to work for a furniture store. I always use either Nail Polish Remover, or Hair spray to take permanent marker off of things at school. Seeing as it is wood I would go with Hair spray first because it is less corrosive on the wood. The cheaper the hairspray the better I have found. Good Luck
