Difficulty Getting Pregnant Again??

So my husband and I tried for 10 months to get pregnant with my son. I think the reason was d/t a miscarriage I had. They also found that I had a high Prolactin level and the doc said that could be one reason. However, I'm not having any of the problems I had before (irregular period etc.) and 3 months have already gone by with no pregnancy. We've used the ovulation tests and um...hit the mark. but still nothing. Any suggestions? Am I going to have another tough time? Any advice you can give on getting through difficulties getting pregnant a second time? Gr. I'm frusterated.

What can I do next?

I am in the same boat - except my son will be 5 this fall and I feel I have wasted so much time. I had no problem getting pregers the first time - but now is difficult. I am going on Clomed next month - but wish I had tried earlier. This is a fertility pill you can get at the gyno. I hope it works 0 but if not I will be greatful for my one.

On another subject - I have been wanting to go back to school for massage therpy. Can you tell me where your husband goes and if he is having a good experiance with that school? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - M.

Even using ovulation tests, taking my temperature, charting it all.. . it still took months for me to get pregnant. Remember all those methods aren't an exact science. You've already had a baby, so you know you can do that. Just relax and enjoy the baby-making! Good luck to you!

I would highly, HIGHLY recommend the book, "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will help you see, even more accurately than an ovulation predictor, when you are most fertile, and most importantly, that you are ovulating. My best to you. We went through 18 months of trying and 2 miscarriages and it is hard. We are currently 5 weeks from d-day and can hardly believe it! Even after 9 months! I wish you success...

I'm in the same boat, too! I really encourage some form of Natural Family Planning-that works with a lot of women, teaching them how to read the signs of fertility.
Did you go to the dr.? I had very irregular periods too, and I went and fiound out that I don't ovulate(polycistic ovarion syndrome/disease or PCOS/PCOD). And I, too am on Clomid(it makes you ovulate). You want to find out right away if there is a problem.

Good luck! I feel for you!

I wish I could tell you that I am in the same boat, we cannot afford to have another baby right now, but wish we could. I had problems getting preg. with my first. It took over a year. I had been on BC pill for 11 years, and when I went off, I was only getting my period ever 3-5 months, and my dr. determined that I was not ovulating, he put me on Clomid and a hormone pill that I was to take to get my period and then the first round of clomid, I got pregnant. I would talk to your doctor and make sure your hormone levels are right.

I know it is very hard - I have been in your shoes with miscarriage late on and wanting to get pregnant but waiting 2 years each time. The one thing I can say is thank G-d time is on your side because you are sooooooo young and you will get pregnant - it is just a matter of time. Hang in there. It happens to so many of us!

I also thought "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" was a great book. I got pregnant the first try with my son, but it took 6 months this second time around(I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant). It was very frustrating, but the book helped me feel like I understood my body!
Good Luck!!
