Ok so I thought I might be pregnant. I'm usually very regular. Day 28 or Day 29 when Aunt Flow shows up. This time she didn't start till Day 34. I took two test and they said I was not pregnant. I have been this late when I was on an antibotic. THis time around I had really bad cramps and a very upset stomach(No need to go into detail). It totally felt I was having morning sickness. So my question is does any one know what the heck happened. Was I pregnant and miscarried or what the heck is going on with my body?

I'm 37 we have been trying and I have been poked and proaded like you wouldn't believe. I totally fine but we are still trying.

ANy advice or information would be awesome.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I don't know what to think. The week of trying to conceive we had a minor flood in our house. Now I don't think that would cause me to be late for a whole week but you never know. We were pretty stressed out the first day the flood happened but once we got water back life was good even though we had some water damage. If I did miscarry I'm totally ok with it. Not upset because your body does things for a reason and so does the man upstairs. Which makes me a little relieved that I can get pregnant. So I think I will call my doctor and see what she say and move on and keep on trying. :o) Life is good and I'm excited for 2008. Thank you to everyone with all the support!

It could also be stress. You want to get pregnant and you hoping that you are pregnant is enough stress to delay Aunt Flow a few days. That happened quite often when I was trying to get pregnant the first and second time. Just try to relax(I know that it is hard).

I had the same problem and my period kept on getting later and later. Finally after a 36 day late period, I went to the doctor and they said I had Polycistic Ovaries. Look it up on the internet and see if you have other sypmtoms that match. Hopefully it's something else. Good luck.

It could've been a blighted ovum.

Have you tried traditional chinese medicine? That is about the most successful treatment I am aware of for fertility issues and especially so for trying to conceive after age 35.

For this kind of question it is best to call your Dr and just ask. You can still get a period and be pregnant. Most of the tests they have out now you can tell right away and show positive if they are. Your body can shift gears too if you aren't on birth control as far as cycles. My period shifts every six months as to when it is in the month, weird but happens. You could have something stomach related as far as illness too. Call your Dr, that is best person to assist you! Good luck!

I recommend that you go to the doctor and have a blood test just to make sure. I have had 8 miscarriages and each of them was different from the next. The ones that happened early in the pregnancy were only determined through checking hormone levels. Don't worry though. Many women experience a miscarriage in the course of the process and then go on to have all the beautiful babies that they are supposed to. I am a very blessed SAHM of two fabulous teenage boys.

It is very likely you had a miscarriage. I just had this happen a month ago, it was a very heavy period and came late (I am usually like clock work) and there was cramping and all that. I have had a miscarriage before when I knew about the pregnancy and well this last period defiantly reminded me of it. I hope you are okay and keep trying for another beautiful bundle of joy.
God Bless

I think it is possible that you miscarried. There are apparently lots of miscarriages women don't even know about. If you have been trying to conceive awhile, it can be good news that you got pregnant, though. That's the way it was for us--sad we miscarried, but happy we had a pregnancy! And then we were told that women were especially fertile after a miscarriage, and I quickly conceived again. By the way, if you are having trouble conceiving, I read a great article yesterday... http://www.dailycamera.com/news/2007/dec/31/no-headline--...

Hey! Keep trying. I'm 4 months pregnant and according to the Dr. that can't happen. It happened when I finally decided I didn't care if it happened right now and maybe we'd try again in a few months.

It might have been a miscarriage. We've been that route many times and your story does sound familiar. On the other hand, it's worth checking into. I took several pregnancy tests with this one and they all came back negative. Tests read HCG levels of 25. Mine were over 12,000 by the time I had a blood test. Who knows why the tests sometimes miss that.

Good luck. Hope you get pregnant soon!

Alexis is right. Stress could very well be a huge factor, and it will change your cycle patterns. Even with the most regular people. Stress affects the body in so many ways. It is important to try and relax. I'm going through the same thing. I started a week early this month. I had my regular cycle at the beginning of this month, and then on the 20th, I went to the bathroom, and twice there was blood. Kind of scary, but just thought it could be my cycle changing its course. And sure enough...here I am a week early. My husband and I are trying to have another baby, but my system is not. LOL And like Alexis said, the stress with wanting another child, and no luck at the moment, is quite enough to make your body change its course. You and I both just need to relax and let it happen instead of worrying ourselves about it. :-) Glad I'm not the only one here. LOL
Take care M., and I wish you the best.
