Hi, new to this and not quite sure if I had been using it correctly? I have two beautiful girls, the oldest is 2 1/2 the youngest is 2 in april. We adopted the youngest when she was 4 months old. It has been difficult to get them out & about because of their age. Its usually just me taking them, my family is out of town and I don't have much help. I always need another person to help keep them from running off in separate directions. What is there to do that my girls can socialize with other children & I can get to know other moms?

What can I do next?

Hi D.!
I am a single Mom living in the Crafton area (right over othe hill from you) and I joined onto the website meetup.com and it is a resource for other Moms to connect and have playdates and other activities for you and the kids. They have a calander of events full of things to do in the Robinson area. Please check it out ,I did and sure am glad I did. My daughter Violet and I are invited to a playgroup in Moon Twnshp on Friday and am meeting some Moms for the first time and my daughter will get to socialize with others her age and we are very excited about the opportunity to get out of the house!

Hi,
We like to go to the Robinson Mall play area, my son really likes to play there, and it's free! They also have Giggles and Smiles if you want to pay, for kids under 3 I think it's $5 per hour and you have to stay with them. It really lets them burn off some energy!

Hi D.!!

Look for a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group at a church in your area. I teach the "moppets" class at our church for the new moms. The Western Area YMCA is close to you too. Montour Trail is beautiful in the spring. And Robinson has a great park in front on the pool - I think it might be off Clever Road???
My girls who are now 18 and 17 were quite a handful too when they were young. I used to take 2 carts to do any shopping and always a double stroller to the Mall. The time will pass so quickly and before you know it they will be in school all day. Love em, and have fun with them now. You are building blocks in these short years at home with you that they will draw upon for a lifetime.

God Bless!

Even though it is in edgewood, the center for creative play is a great place to take the girls - I take my 18 month old twins there and feel that they can go in different directions and you can still keep an eye on them. Also it is a confined space.

Hi D.!
Welcome to the neighborhood! I'm close to you in Kennedy Township. As soon as the weather breaks the Robinson Park on Clever Road is always filled with children and moms. In the summer most of us get passes to the Robinson pool, because you live in Robinson the pass cost is very minimial. You can google Robinson Pool, Mckees Rocks and it should be able to get this years prices and the dates they will begin to sell the passes. Until then however, I'm not sure there's much to do but try to deal with the cabin fever that we are all suffering from. Sometimes I feel like spring weather will never arrive! If you have any other questions about the area or just want to chat let me know. Have a great day!
