I belong to the Mother's Club of Hernando County. We have a get acquainted playgroup next Wed Jan 31 at 3:30 pm at Delta Woods park (on Deltona Blvd.) It would be a good time to come and meet a few moms, get some more info about the club and even get a copy of the monthly newsletter. If you can't make that, we also will be holding our Feb Genral meeting on Monday Feb 5 at St. Francis Cabrini Church, on Mariner Blvd., in clasrooms 5 & 6. ( there is NO church affliation necessary.) The club is also listed here under the Local Business Reviews, but I think it might have been from Dec. If you have any questions don't hesistate to email me privately. Hope this helps.

Welcome to the area T.! I've heard lots about the Mom's Club of Hernando County too. I attended one meeting, but (at the time) it really wasn't for me. I was working full-time and just unable to meet @ their times/ unable to the volunteer hours that they were requesting.

I met a few parents at the park, Dr's office and word of mouth (with children of similar ages) and we started meeting up at the park. It was a great way to refocus, get out of the house, get some fresh air, and Mommy time to socialize with other Moms. Delta Woods is a nice park (off of Northcliffe and Deltona). Anderson Snow Park (when it's warmer) off of Barclay/Anderson Snow and Spring Hill Drive, Hernando Beach (weather and wind permitting) and a few others (Veteran's park, Tom Varn Park...).

Also, when your baby is pushing 2 yrs old, St. Frances Cabrini Church has a "Mom & Tots" preschool program that has minimal fees (around $40/yr). The children meet in structured classrooms while the Mom's get to socialize. 2 days a week for around 2 hrs. Might be something to keep in the back of your mind.

Hope this helps.
Carol

Hi T.,
I belong to a couple mom groups who have playdates all the time. You can find them at meetup.com, just put in your zip code. I belong to Brooksville/Spring hill moms and hernando county moms. We got to parks and rec centers. There is a meetup on Friday at the rec center in Hudson. And there is another one on tomorrow at Delta woods park, I think. Hope this helps. I am orginially from PA. I was born and raised in a small town north of Phily.

Hi T.!
My name is C. Carleton and I live here in Spring Hill. I have twin girls, almost 3. When I first moved here and got pregnant, i met a woman who suggested the Mother's Club of hernando county. I've been a member for over 3 years and love it. We have monthly meetings (first Monday of the month) at 7:30pm at St. Frances Cabrini on Mariner Blvd. Feel free to come to the meeting Monday night. Would love to meet you!
