Hi M.,
It could be that she is teething. I would have to ask if her gums are white. If they are, she may be starting to teeth, but 3 months old does seem soon. Not sleeping? Watch her for an ear infection. My kids never slept when they had ear infections, and were very crabby...good luck, L.

Hi M.,

With kids you never know what the problems is, can be frustrating! My daughter never drooled alot but at 3 months she was super cranky and had a little runny nose nothing big and i thought something was wrong w/her. At her doctor's visit at 2 months they said oh she's fine and she's not teeting too young. Well at 3 months 2 teeth popped up! she had her four bottoms and four top by the time she was 10 months old.. She is 14 months and has 2 of her 4 molars in already.. still cranky... lol good luck and i'm sure if its not teeth might be a little cold. If your baby is screaming alot and not sleeping could be an ear infection. good luck!

Hi M.
My 2nd daughter had her first 2 teeth at 3 months. So it's quite possible your baby is teething.

Hi M.,
It's hard to tell at this age and this season. She could have a cold which is really common right now or she may be teething. She can teeth for a long time before you even see a tooth. My son loved to chew on baby toys while he teethed. Good luck.

your baby could very well be teething. infant tylenol and little noses saline drops worked great for my little one when she was stuffy. i would call your baby's doctor for dosage for the tylenol.

i always knew when my daughter was teething because she would start drooling and stopped sleeping through the night.

good luck!!!!!!!

Hi M.-
My son is a little over 3 months and he is definitely teething. He had a stuffy nose and then it went away and he has been super fussy- not sleeping well, drooling, and can't keep his hands out of his mouth. I felt on his lower gums and sure enough, the 2 little teeth in the front are trying to poke through! Poor guy! I called a nurse at my doc's office and she said to try infant tylenol (no more than 2 doses in 24 hours)and all of the usual stuff- a frozen washcloth, orajel, etc. I guess with your daughter, see if you can see or feel teeth coming in- on the lower gums in the center. If not, she could be fussy from the cold- in which case you should just use baby saline drops and the suction thing to keep her nose clear, run a cool mist humidifier in her room, and make sure she is very hydrated. If you think it's not teething, and she doesn't feel better- maybe call the doc to rule out an ear infection?
Hope this helped!
Take care and Happy New Year!

Hi M.,
Both my kids were big time droolers. My first child was actually born with 2 back teeth so when he started drooling at 2 months old, I thought for sure he was teething but his first ones didn't pop through until 7 months. My 2nd child didn't get his first teeth until 7 months either. But for me it seemed like they were preparing for months before the teeth actually came in. Maybe your child is having a growth spurt. That makes them cranky & can make her not sleep well.

It is most likely a cold. My little guy has been the same way for several months (he's almost 8 months old) and still no teeth, though he's drooling even more now. It's the season for colds. If you have a humidifier that will help him lots. If you don't, boiling a pot of water during the day will help (keep a close eye on it!) and also holding him in the bathroom and filling it up with steam will help lots. If you're nursing, that will help her get over it quickly, especially if you've also been exposed since you'll pass on your antibodies. Hope she's better soon!

It's so difficult to tell. I always knew because the drool was incredibly abundant- I mean the front of his onesie looked like I had dumped water on it and I'd have to change his top or have him wear a bib. I guess only time will tell.
