my little girl is 2months old and is just starting to get her first 2 teeth. well she had a fever which the doctors said was due to the teething but then this morrnig she had a rash on her face and upper body and a small diper rash is this due 2 the fever as well?
It is most likely Roseola. The baby gets a fairly high fever without any other symptoms. When the fever goes away they have a rash on their trunk/face. All five of my children got it at some point. I was worried with my first, but after I knew what it was I didn't worry so much. The rash usually clears up within a week.
It is not uncommon fo rchildren to get a light fever when teething. If she is drooling heavily that will cause the rash. The drool becomes highly acidic during teething (to help the process) and that in turn can cause both a rash were ever the drool has a chance to sit and occationally a diaper rash. I wouldn't worry unless the fever is high or doesn't go away after a few days.
Is your baby 6 months old or 2 months old? 2 months is quite young to be getting teeth , and even at 6months old I would wonder anout the rash and get it looked at or talk to someone on the phon about it.
Could be a lot of things, the doctor should see the baby. Fever of 101-102 is ok and could just be a virus, but once it's 103-104 they worry more about it being a bacteria, which is more worrysome but still not necessarily dangerous.
Could also be a mild reaction from a vaccine if the baby had vaccine shots recently.
Fever temperature is the first gauge of seriousness.. a viral infection should rarely get up to 104. Any fever of 104+ needs close monitoring.105 and 106 is not dangerous in of itself, but its a signal that it could be a bacterial infection and the child may need antibiotics as a prophylactic (just in case).
Fevers are good. Do not automatically reach for ibuprofen to bring a fever down. Personally, I use low dose ibuprofen or tylenol mostly at night, just to make the baby/child comfortable enough for sleep.

Thus the high temperature of the fever, stops the flu virus from dividing and spreading.
Many parents fear that fevers will cause brain damage. Brain damage from a fever generally will not occur unless the fever is over 107.6°F (42°C). Many parents also fear that untreated fevers will keep going higher and higher, up to 107°F or even more. Untreated fevers caused by infection will seldom go over 105°F unless the child is overdressed, or trapped in a hot place. The brain's thermostat will stop the fever from climbing above 106°F.

Sorry your lo is going through this.
as for rash, it could be the fever and/or other things. I would go to a dr to have him take a look.
in addition, weleda diaper cream is great for tushy rashes. for the face, it should go away on its own. a friend brought me from europe a cream called "bepantene" which is sold over the counter in europe. it is a miracel cream for baby and toddler rashes and irritations, as well as sore nipples from bfeeding. i use it on my dry hands. see if your pharmacy carries it. it is made by bayer. i am picky about skin things and i swear by it.
Face and upper body rash could also be roseola. again, ask your dr.
