We love Dr. Huoy in Monroeville. He's not specifically pediatric, but my son who's 5 never balks at going and a lot of my friends use him as well and no complaints.

Hi B.! We LOVE and give our highest recommendation to the Gurtner Dental practice in Mt. Lebanon on Cochran Road. They are a husband and wife team; wife is a pediatric dentist and handles the kids, husband cares for the adults. Not only are they both very gentle, compassionate and kind, they entire staff is as well. It's a very warm atmosphere and all are incerdibly competent and caring. I can't say enough about them; we would never go anywhere else. My daughter has been going there since we moved back when she was 3, and she has always LOVED to go to the dentist because Dr. Maggie and the staff make it great for the kids. Can't give a much better recommendation than that :-)

James Rosen in Mt. Lebanon. He is a pediatric dentist and has been in practice for a long time. He is a really nice guy and my kids have done really well with him. My older one had a cavity filled and did really well. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

I'll chime in that Dr. Bryan Fisher & his staff are wonderful with kids. We are very happy there. Also, Dr. Wolkoff on Beverly Rd in Mt. Lebanon, who isn't pediatric, just talked non-stop in friendly kid-tones to my 5-year-old and fixed her cavity without her really realizing it! She had turned into a wild beast when our very first dentist discovered the cavity (and immediately told me to have it taken care of under sedation at Children's). With Dr. W., she was a little lamb.

Hi B., Try Dentristy for Kids. They have four offices in the Pittsburgh area. We have been going to their Monroeville office since early in 2000 when we moved into PA. All three of my girls love going to the dentist! Their staff and doctors are all excellent although our favorite is Dr. Price! Check out their web site at www.dentistry-for-kids.com Best Wishes!

I don't know where exactly in the Pittsburgh area you're looking but I have a great dentist in Peters Twp. He's actually a family dentist. His name is Dr. Michael Hnat. I actually decided to leave our pediatric dentist in favor of Dr. Hnat. I already knew he was good with kids because he was my childhool dentist. He recently opened a new practice here. Just to give you a quick example, our previous pediatric dentist insisted on gas for everything but cleanings. He wouldn't even try novacaine without the gas. My daughter had to have 3 baby teeth pulled and he put her under with anesthesia. She recently had to have 3 teeth pulled and Dr. Hnat just gave her some numbing juice (novacaine shot) and she didn't feel a thing. If you're interested, his number is ###-###-####. He's so gentle and soft spoken the kids are immediately comfortable with him.
