Can You Recommend a Dentist Anywhere?

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a dentist. Either a pediatric dentist or a family dentist and I don't care where the person is located. I just need some recommendations. We are due for our 6 month check ups and I have yet to find a dentist since moving out here.
We do live in the North Hills area, but please feel free to suggest a dentist anywhere! Really, it's only twice a year that we go (so far!). Thanks so much in advance!

What can I do next?

I second the recommendation for Dentistry for Kids! I use them out at Monroeville (same docs at each office, different hygentists). They are wonderful! My son just went for his first ever dentist appt and they made it very relaxed and fun. www.dentistry-for-kids.com

HI M.,
We live in Cranberry and a new practice opened up that we LOVE they are called Dentistry For Kids they are on Rt 19. They are wonderful- we had Dr. Price and he made my 5 yr old giggle all the way through her route canal- yes route canal and crown. She says he is her funny Dr. They talk to the kids the entire time they are working. Highly recommend them. I just looked them up on line and they have an office in the North Hills- good luck ( and they are very reasonable price wise!!)

Hi M., When we moved out here in 2000 our new peditrician recommended Dentistry for Kids and we have been going there ever since. They have 4 offices; North Hills, downtown Pittsburgh, Monroeville and Harrison City. They are amazing!!! Our favorite dentist is...ALL of them! The staff is great with kids and parents, they are very proactive but don't do any procedures unless they are truly needed. Check out their web site at www.dentistry-for-kids.com I can't say enough great things about them! Best wishes

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Plesco who is actually quite close to you on Mt. Royal Blvd. in Shaler. He is truly an old-school doctor who genuinely cares about the patient. He just has a way about him that makes you feel so comfortable and at ease (important when going to the dentist!) He will go out of his way to help you-even if you have an emergency over the weekend like I have had. They are really great with kids there too. Dr. D'Alesio is Munhall!! He gets perfect scores on "Yahoo Business" and is the ONLY reason that I even GO to a dentist. Seriously, I had the worst dental phobia of anyone I knew, and Dr. D'Alesio changed all of that. He is young (late 30's), but is really up to date on cutting edge techniques, and is an absolute sweetheart!! He is a Christian (I don't know if that matters or not to you personally) and is afamily man with two small children. Whenever you have ANY questions you can get him on his cell phone...I think once I got him during his anniversary dinner, yet he took 20 minutes to calm me about an issue I was having.
Seriously, check his office out...even his hygenist, Lauren, is the most gentle I have ever been to.

Hi M.,

My dentist is awesome!!! His name is Dr. Brian Taylor at Taylor Made Smiles in New Kensington. He actually is in the same building as my business (Valley Massage Therapy & Bodywork) His wife is his assistant and he has 3 or 4 other women working with him. His office has a very serene, spa-like feel. He's been a Dentist for about 15 yrs or so. I just had to get a root canal and I literally almost fell asleep...no kidding!

Easy! Rt. 228 heading east to Mars from Cranberry.

We see Dr. Horvath (currently on maternity leave), but have also seen the owner, Dr. Bobbie, and there are about 7 other dentists too. They do pediatrics that are "standard" cases, so my 2-1/2 year old has been there to "count" her teeth and she goes back in the fall for her first cleaning. They do everything in their shop and are connected to an orthodontist and surgical center, so you won't get bounced around!

We love and give our highest recommendation to the Gurtner Dental practice in Mt. Lebanon on Cochran Road (not more than 10-15 minutes from the Ft Pitt Tunnel at a non-rush hour time; you'd probably take the first exit after the tunnel- Banksville Road - if you came that way). They are a husband and wife team; wife is a pediatric dentist and handles the kids, husband cares for the adults. Not only are they both very gentle, compassionate and kind, the entire staff is as well. It's a very warm atmosphere and all are incredibly competent and caring. I can't say enough about them; we would never go anywhere else. We have been going there since we moved back to Pgh over a decade ago (our daughter was 3 at the time), and she has always LOVED to go to the dentist because Dr. Maggie and the staff make it a great experience for the kids. Can't give a much better recommendation than that. :-) It really feels like "going in to visit friends, oh and get the teeth cleaned while we are there." LOL ###-###-#### http://www.gurtnerdental.com/
(PS the other bonus of having adult and ped in the same practice is that, ever since my daughter has been old enough to sit for half an hour and read while I have mine cleaned, it's now a "one stop shop" - she has her cleaned, I have mine cleaned, the appropriate dentist comes in to check each of us, and we are out the door in one appointment block instead of two. With our crazy schedule, I really appreciate that...)
