I am in the market to purchase a new dishwasher and am so confused after going and looking around this morning. I would prefer a mid-range price that is energy effecient and runs somewhat quietly. If anyone has any suggestions or can tell me the best place to look for reviews please let me know. Thanks!
Have you tried Conn's Clearance Center in Mesquite off 635 & Town East BLVD? I got a great deal on a fridge.
I bought a GE quietpower 2 at home depot. My home is a very open floor plan, so my kitchen and living area are separated by only a low counter. I can run the dishwasher and watch television with no problem. It has a 2, 4 or 6 hour delay timer if you want to set it to come on while you sleep. It also has a sanitize cycle - I love this for baby bottles! I think it was about $225. My only regret is that it isnt energy star compliant. On a side note, I was disappointed with home depot because they didn't tell me that they deliver and install at two separate visits. I expected delivery and installation on the same visit and was mad when I found out (at delivery) that I would have to take off work a 2nd time to get it installed. My stupidity, I guess, but they should have made that clear.
Don't get a Maytag. Mine rusted after about 2 years. I hate it. Just a warning. I also have read others with the same problem with Maytag.

I bought a Kenmore at Sears for my first house and loved it! I bought a GE at Lowe's for my second house and have not been as happy (too noisy, had an issue that took them 7 weeks and many visits to fix, is rusting easily).
