If she loves a little of every thing, give it to her. Have a very unique birthday for her. Have a princess cake on half and turtles around the princess. Get some grab bags with all three things inside. Make sure she has a crown or a princess outfit. They sell them at wal-mart. Most dollar stores and wal-mart carry a great varity of decorations. Including plates and cups. Have a little of each. Pick a color from each theam, and get streamers to put oround the table, door frames and hang from the celing. At the dollar stores, they have those great toys we grew up on, plastic maze with a ball in it, little puzzles, noise makers. You name it, they probabaly have it. I also had my first child young. 16. She will be 13 next month. Good luck. need any more help, just ask.

Hello K....
I actually love the princess idea because there is so much to play with. Anywhere from the cake to her birthday hat. First off, if you haven't sent invites, or if you need thank you notes there are princess ones in Target. I bought them for my one year old's this year and everyone thought they were adorable. Also depending upon whether you make your own cake or you order-you could either ice a castle onto it or have it made in the shape of a castle. Gift bags I would get brown paper and glue with glitter (blue for boy/pink for girl)-cut the top of the bag into points for a crown and depending upon whether you have time or not either write in glue prince_ or princess_-if you don't have time to spend I would just outline the tips of the crown with gender color and maybe gold or silver. More likely than not you will have a color scheme in mind, just apply that to her chair specifically. Use many streamers. For her hat you could use a regular birthday hat or a make a crown. If you use the hat all you have to do is apply glitter and a little bit of a tulle train and vola, princess! Good luck and I hope that I have helped a little!

You can do a great party at Lyman Orchards.. since it is the season there is a corn maze, hay rides, pumpkins, and so forth.. or there are indoor places such as the great escape in glastonbury! Let me know if that helps!

For my daughter's 1st birthday i went with a princess theme. I actually run my own handmade cards and invitations business. I made invitaitions in the the shape of a tiara in pink and purple. I had a customer that requested them. I loved them so much I used them for my daughters Birthday. They I for her cake I made a chocolate cake in a sheet pan I pickeed up at party city and cut of the top the match the tiara. So she had a big Tiara cake. It was a big hit. I also have this idea for making little purses for goodiebags. i have't done it yet but I am planning on it (for my business). Cute paper purses to give out! :) I can send you pics of my invitations and cake if you want some ideas. Just send me your email. Good luck! I love parties! :)

Hi K.! Princess parties are so fun to plan! Last year we did that for my daughter's fourth and i combed the internet for ideas and was really pleased with the way it turned out! I made the invitations, which got plenty of kudos from kids as well as parents...they were printed on a colored fiber paper which I then used rubber cement to adhere to a half sheet of plain printer paper and rolled and sealed with a gold label and tie addressing each child as "princess-" or "sir-". They were written to sound "royal" and invited guests to dress in their favorite "royal" attire. My daughter dressed as sleeping beauty, her godmother agreed to dress up like cinderella, I dressed like Belle, and another friend dolled herself up like a princess as well.
Of course we had your typical decorations: balloons, table covers in different colors, princess banner, etc. I ordered goodies from oriental trading co.(plastic princess cups and knight cups and sword bubbles, stickers, tattoos, etc) as well as gathered things from the dollar store and party stores (bracelets, candy, etc.). Each goodie bag was labeled with gold label "princess-" or "sir-". I made a big frog prince with a gold glitter crown and cut out lips for each child to play "kiss the frog prince". We also had a craft table to make crowns/tiaras (found a kit at ac moore i think??? and a bucket of glitter pens). We had intentions of playing princess tea party and birthday party music cd's but the radio we used wasn't quite loud enough and gave us some problems. My special gift to my daughter was a rather large princess playhut (ordered from walmart online) which we set up connected to her brother's MegaPlace Playhut tunnels and tents so the kids had a little obstacle course/entertainment area.
Another thing you can do to add a special touch is print labels with a little design on them and the birthday girl's name and date or something. The labels fit perfectly on Hershey's Nuggets and then you can just scatter them around on tables. (I found pics of disney princesses online and did 3 different labels each saying something like "thank you for coming to Princess Anastasia's royal ball" or "Princess Gracie's Royal 4th Birthday and the date". As for food, we set up a buffet of all sorts of easy stuff for kids to include a big bowl of grapes and strawberries, a treasure bowl (dirt dessert with gummy jewels), cheeses and crackers, hot dogs, sloppy joe, etc.
Anyway, I know this is a long response...I just thought I'd pass on some fun ideas. Hope you find some useful and enjoy planning your daughter's party! Btw- I do custom cake decorating. If you'd like some info feel free to contact me....I noticed you are in Nepa.

You got some great ideas to go on. I do princess parties with a friend of mine who is a clown. Unfortuneately we are not in your area. On a good note I'll let you in on what we do. Make it pretty but keep it simple the other moms gave you some great ideas on decorations. Have a friend or two help you. set up some stations where you can do some activities...for when guests are just arriving, you get the cake together, set up for a game or whatever lulls you may come across. Craft stores have wonderful cheap foam activities and 3+ love em. buy foam crowns and wands and have the children stick foam stickers on them. Let them decorate themselves. Also you could have someone paint fingernails you can find water based nailpolish. oooo what a treat. The girls get sooo excited. Here is where your turtles come in. make up your own story how the prince turned into a turlte read (if you would like I could write one for you) it to the girls so they get the jist then you can put paper stuffed or little rubber turtles all over. A princess cake and turtle cookies with a special juice to turn the turtle back into the prince. My clown friend bought a cd with princess songs and had the girls dance after they made their crowns, they loved it. Last but not least make sure your princess come dressed and If someone doesn't have one go to the salvation army and put a dress up box together. Hope I helped. I do however have some great ideas for turles too if you want to go that route. My son is a ocean fanatic. let me know!!!

Hi K.! For my daughters 1st birthday I did the princess theme. I made my own invitations (really easy actually and I should have the word document that I used and could send it to you). I bought a package of little bubbles at the dollar store and added pink and purple ribbon. I included a sticker that said "Princess Brooke's 1st Birthday" and the date. I had a princess come for the kids since the ages ranged and she did magic tricks and face painting. I also bought from Oriental Trading the make your own shields and all the kids colored their own shields. I bought blow up swords and the kids had a ball. I also had wands for the girls and crowns. For favors I got (also from oriental trading) the little hand puppets that were kings and queens, etc. and the frog water toys. They also sold princess gummy treats from Birthdayexpress.com I believe. The cake I bought from a store and they made this beautiful castle cake. I also got cupcakes. It was tons of fun.

This year I'm doing a Minnie Mouse party. My 3 year old loves Minnie Mouse so I made the invitations (Minnie Mouse's face with magnets on the back and the invitations that say "Come along and sing a song and join our jamboree Brooke is turning three Hey there, Hi There, Ho There you're as welcome as can be and then the information - when, where, time - We hope to see you real soon! RSVP...) I got some onesies for the infants and will iron on minnie pictures. I will give the boys Mickey Mouse stuff for favors and the girls will get Minnie Mouse. I got mouse ear bubbles from Walmart along with Mickey blow toys and a few other things. I also got minnie mouse socks. Ebay has items on there for sale for favors also. For some reason as soon as I started planning this party (when Brooke told me she wanted a Minnie party there was nothing to find) I'll probably do a regular sheet cake with Minnie Mouse stuff. We'll play pin the bow on Minnie Mouse and a couple of other games. You can also go to MickeyMouseClubhouse.com and print out coloring pages for the kids. Good luck with your birthday and if you want to know the Elmo party we had for her 2nd birthday just let me know :o)

You can have a princess party where every little girl comes dressed up in her favorite dress-up clothes. I had a party like that for my daughter and put a purple plastic tablecloth on the table and sprinkled various kinds of glitter and shiny confetti stars and long pieces of ribbon all over the table. I made magic wands out of wooden dowls from Home Depot and Foam Stars from the craft shop. I put a glue stick at each place and let them decorate their own wands. The glitter, ribbon and confetti did double duty as decorations for the table and their wands. My daughter is now 12 but still remembers that as being one of her more fun parties.
