"My Princess Boy" and "What Would You Do"...

I have a little girl (two actually) that are 1/2 princess, 1/2 tomboy. My 3 y/o has an iron man mask, pirate costumes, police costumes, as well as princess and fairy costumes. I have no issue with her playing with trucks or trains or cars. I seriously cannot understand why it's so "unheard" of to have boys play house or barbies. How many of you moms would be weirded out if your boy would be intersested in this kind of play? I have no boys yet, but my hubby agrees with me.

Do You Have a Financial Obligation to Support an 18Yo?

...specifically, an 18yo who disrespects your house rules yet feels entitled to you financing her lifestyle: car, college, etc? The daughter in the link below not only feels entitled to that, she's SUING her parents to get it (link in the SWH). What do you think? What would YOU do? ...and how do you feel about the possibility that, should the court even hear this girl out much less rule in her favor, you too could be sued on the basis of your principles raising your family? This is pure insanity, but we are reaping what we have...

Plastic Princess Shoes for Toddlers

Hi Moms I was wondering if anyone has bought the princess plastic play shoes for their 3yr girls to wear and walk around in. Are they safe? Are the kids falling in them and twisting their ankles? Do they break easily? Sams Club is selling them and I wanted to buy some for my 3yr old daughter but wanted some feedback first from those who may have experienced them. I remember wearing those fancy plastic shoes when I was little and I remember the heels always broke off. Thanks for any comments.

Peapod Travel Bed/tent?

Has anyone tried the Pea Pod travel bed/tent? My daughter is now too long for the pack and play but SO not ready for a big bed. We have a fair amount of travel over the next several months and I'm looking into other options. Someone recommended the PeaPod and I was just curious if anyone else has tried it. If so, did it work well and how old were the kids. Thanks!

Paying for Wedding Expenses

My 36 year old son is marrying for the 3rd time. He is a single father and for the past 3 years he and his 2 children have lived with my husband and me. One of his children is a special needs child and we have had a huge responsibility taking care of her so he could work. My husband and I pay a lot of their living expenses every month and keep the children so he can work. He is engaged to a 27 year old and this is her first wedding. Because they are adults and have been engaged for 3 years and we have paid for 2 of his weddings already, we...

Christmas with No Money

I am a single mom of two wonderful boys ages 11 and 7. This Christmas is a hard one for me financially. I have absolutely no extra money for Christmas this year. They really don't need any new toys as they already have plenty so I don't want to sign them up under a charity. There are plenty of others who have it much worse than us that could use it more. However, I really don't want this to be a depressing holiday for them. Therefore, do any of you moms have any fun, creative ways for gift giving from me to them that will cost...
