Looking for Pediatric Dentist in Alpharetta

It's time for my son (just turned 2) to start going to the dentist. I was wondering if anyone has a good recommendation of a great pediatric dentist in Alpharetta, Johns Creek, Roswell area? He is already afraid of the doctor's office and screams and cries throughout the whole visit so I am dreading the dentist. I'm looking for a place that is very kid friendly and has lots of appealing toys or even movies on to distract him. And of course a great dentist who would do a great job and understand about my sons fears. Thank you in advance for any help you can give!

What can I do next?

Windward Pediatric Dentistry is the best! A husband and wife are the dentists and they are both great and really awesome with kids (they have 3 young boys themselves). I have been using them for 2 years and began taking my son there when he was just 18 months old and he loves going to the destist. Everytime we drive past their office he asks if he can go to the dentist today.

Here's their website: http://www.wpdentistry.com

Dr. Danny King he's at the corner of Old Alabama and Jones Bridge. It's a really fun environment but he's also a very good dentist.

Alpharetta Children's Dentistry. They have offices in both Alpharetta and Johns Creek. My two boys have been going there for six years now.

On the first visit my 3 year old was terrified, and threw himself face down on the floor in the exam area, crying. I looked at the hygienist and asked "What do I do". She said pick him up, hand him to me, and go. I did, expecting to hear all sorts of screaming. 20 minutes later he comes out skipping and smiling. It's been smooth sailing ever since.

They really cater to kids with games, movies, in the waiting area, lots of prizes for them to pick through afterwards. I think for the really young ones they work in teams, with one just talking to the kids, while another one does the actual dental work.

They have about 6 dentists there, we see whoever, and have never been disappointed. Good luck!

Dr. Mike Hansen at Pediatric Dental Town. They're in Johns Creek. He is wonderful, and the office looks like a little town; each room is a "store" (pet store, etc.).
Super kid friendly. My son can't wait to go back.

Dental TLC in Sandy Springs. My whole family goes. My 4 1/2 year old was scared to death to go to the dr and the dentist but now he is a champ! The nurses all show him what the instruments he watches cartoons while he is getting his teeth cleaned and they showed him a little video the 1st time he went of a chimp getting his teeth cleaned. They let him sit in my lap or my husbands lap while he gets his exrays and his teeth cleaned. He loves to go and now he doesn't mind the doctors office either.

The number is ###-###-####. They take almost all dental insurance. If for some reason they don't take your insurance or you don't have insurance they will work something out so that you don't go broke!

My kids too go to the Pediatric Dental Town and LOVE it! I mean it. They are actually disappointed they have to wait 6 months to go back, and let me tell you.. we go every 6 because the do love it! I have a 6, 5, and 2 year old and they all do great. The two year old even went up on the table without any problems (although I'm sure it did wonders watching the older two go first). And they will have no problem with him sitting on your lap if that's what you need to do. They take their time until the kid feels comfortable and don't rush. I really can't say enough good about this place!

Roswell Pediatric Dentist is wonderful! I actually had to take my daughter when she was 18 mo and had chipped a tooth and busted a lip on the sidewalk. They were wonderful and recommended by my pediatrician's office! It is a very child friendly place. They give kids a balloon, have movies, a gameroom/toy room, etc. I would highly recommend it. She is now 2 and I had to take in April when she turned 2 and it went well. She did cry a little, but the nurses and doctor were very patient in working with her. Dr. Nath takes time to talk to you of any concerns/questions and he is great with children. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Good luck!

Some others have recommended Dental TLC and Dr Hansen. I love them both!!!

I live in Lawrenceville and I travel to both. I have been a Dental TLC patient for about 9 years and I would never consider going anywhere else. The only reason why my kids do not go there is because Dr. Hansen's office is especially made for toddlers. My son and daughter love going to Dr. Hansen's office. It's like playtime, so the kids are more relaxed. They then don't mind the dental hygienist and the doctor looking at their teeth.

Hope this helps,
L.

Technically, it's Roswell, but ours is close to the Crabapple/ Sweet Apple/ area of Alpharetta. Dr. Nath at Roswell Pediatric Dentistry. www.kidshappyteeth.com

Fun place. Nice people. And it's right next to "Play: Activity Center" (indoor playground kind of place) and a few kid-friendly restaurants, so you can have some fun afterwards.
