Looking for Mommy Time

I am a SAHM looking for something to do for myself. I don't want to sound selfish or anything, my family is my life I am just looking for a social life. I am sort of a shy so making friends isn't easy for me. I like to think that I am a pretty intelligent person and would love to find something that I could be productive in. Mommy clubs, volunteering, bowling leagues... heck, I am up for any suggestions.

What can I do next?

Hi K.~ My name is Missy and I'm 23 years old. I live in VA Beach and my hubby is in the Navy. We have 2 boys. Jimmy will be 2 next month and Isaiah is 2 months. Jimmy has special needs so everyday is a challenge. I know exactly what you're talking about. I do the same thing. Right now I don't get to go anywhere with out my kids. I haven't been out with friends for over 2 years. I get frustrated because my hubby thinks it can't be that bad taking care of the kids 24/7. I've only been here for a year and haven't really foind much to do yet but if you want you can drop me a line. Take care.

IF you love animals you should volunteer at a humane society or a rescue group for one of your favorite breeds.
If you are crazy about infants we used to be able to volunteer to work with the infants in the Aides ward...little babies that need holding and rocking.
If you are good with your hands HABITAT FOR HUMANITY IS A WONDERFUL CAUSE.
Just a few ideas. Your time is very precious...something like this will make you feel like you matter on a grand scale and you'll meet people left and right!

Have you ever thought about trying a home based business? I love selling Southern Living at HOME and it really offers me some girl time when I do parties. I've made some wonderful friends through the business, not to mention I make a little extra spending money and have beautiful products to decorate my home. There are so many different kinds of direct sales companies. You might try finding one that really interests you. Whatever you like you could check into that kind of company. Good luck!

Try volunteering with Habitat for Humanity-you get the benefit of helping someone else out (while you get your "mommy time" in), plus you can meet new people and talk to them as you work if you feel comfortable doing so. I have volunteered with them many times and love it!

I'm stuck here in Norfolk with only one friend who lives in Hampton..
I need mommy time so bad I can taste it lol.
I'm shy as well..I also like to consider myself intelligent and hate the fact that I feel like I need a break when my son is only 5 months old lol.
I have no girlfriends here in this state and finding them when you can't get a job and have no car is probably the hardest thing ever!

So if you need a friend I need one too!!
I'm dying to be productive as well! But all I can find to do is clean the house and make dinner and that just isn't what I planned on!!

I'm 21 and with my boyfriend and my son alllllll the time.

So if you're interested in hanging out or anything just let me know!!

I was in the same place as you a little under a year ago. I started belly dancing and absoluetly love it. And I have no rythm and and no where near skinny so that's not an excuse. It's a great class and she tells you in the first class that this is YOUR TIME so to cut all the cell phones off and focus on you for a bit. I don't care what mood I'm in on my way to class, by the time I leave there I'm feeling great and happy and revived! Classes are only about 1 1/2 hours a week and she has different times and days of the week. It has helped me a lot with feeling better about me, toning my body and I am setting a great example for my 2 girls about body image.
Her site is www.chandani.net if you have anymore questions, just send me a message and I can answer them for you. Hope you find something for you that you enjoy. Good luck
