I was wondering if any body could give me some ideas on where to have a baby shower in the St. Pete/ Pinellas Park area. My house is to small do it there and I’m not sure where else to look.

What can I do next?

I agree on the tea room idea. The food is always wonderful, and the atmosphere is very quiet and elegant. One of my baby showers was at a tea room and it was fabulous!

You can also check out your local Recreation Centers. We have one here in Land O'Lakes and they have rooms that you can reserve. They may have one in your area.

Sometimes restaurants have back rooms that you can reserve, parks are nice, a club house at an apartment complex or even the meeting rooms at the public library can be a great place.

A.,
The Holiday Inn by the airport (Clearwater/st.petersburg) have just redone their banquet space. They also have smaller meeting rooms as well. You could try there. Ask for Lindsey or Migena and tell them I sent ya. Good luck! G.

Look at any of the local city or county parks. I had my baby shower and my daughter's 1st birthday party at Walsingham Park in Largo for free. Largo Central Park is another nice park (had my daughter's 2nd party there) but is a lot busier and you have to pay to rent the shelters. There are a lot of great parks with shelters throughout Pinellas - it just depends on what you are looking for.

You can also look into city or county recreation centers. They usually have a general meeting space you can rent out. It all depends on what your budget is.

Here are a few links for your reference.

Hi A.! Congratulations! I am having a baby shower for a friend this Saturday at The Tea Rose Cottage in Ybor. http://www.tearosecottageybor.com/

It's like having a tea party with little tea type food and deserts. There are 20 of us so we got our own room and are all getting dressed up in big hats and girly dresses! It should be really fun! When I was looking online for a tea room I found them all over Tampa, so I'm sure there is one close to you.

Just and idea...Have a great time whatever you do!

I have a dear friend, who is also a mom, and is an event planner in your area. She works well with whatever your budget is and she knows EVERYONE and can work miracles. She was able to accomplish the impossible for my 3 year old daughter's birthday which just passed and we were on a tight budget. Her name is Holliday and her company is "Plan It!"

Her contact info is as follows:

We had my friends baby shower at Panera. It was free and you can put up some decorations.

I would go with a club house or restaurant. A park might be nice in November or March, but not now. I know Olive Garden has rooms you can book, I had my wedding rehersal dinner there. You could decorate and it would be private, I think it would be a blast! have fun!

I don't know what time of year you want to have the shower, but Seminole Lake Park (Park Blvd just west of Starkey Road) is a nice place, as is Largo Park (corner of Seminole Blvd and East Bay Drive). They even have shelter areas that you can reserve. Also, if you know anyone that lives in an apartment complex, maybe they would let you use the clubhouse. Good luck!

Hi! There is a place on 38th Ave N, St Pete, called Gladden Park. You will have to pay to reserve it but it's reasonable if you are a resident of St. Pete. The staff are great, there is a kitchen in the room and it's a nice location/AC. We had my daughter's 1st birthday there and it worked out really, really well. Good luck and Congrats!

If you have a big enough back yard. You can be really creative with the decorations. I have been to a lot of showers that have been held outdoors in yards or at the local park. I enjoyed them more then sitting in someones home.

Hi A., Have you thought about asking a friend or family member with a bigger house than yours? If you know anyone in a subdivision with a club house or community room maybe they could help you have it there. If you can stand the weather you could have it in a public park, some have shelters with fans. Places like Denny's and Perkins always like to have people hold meetings and get togethers at their restaurants, or even McDonalds. There is always the party bus too. Hope this helps. Good luck. F.

I'm not familiar with that area of town, but I second the restaurant idea. Lots of restaurants have a side room that you can reserve, for free. Make some calls to some of your favorite places and see what they can do. There are also tea rooms in the area that make for nice showers. And you can even call USF St Pete and St. Petersburg College to find out if they rent rooms (there is a cost of course). But USF St. Pete is right on the water and is a nice location if they have a room available that is not too costly for you. Good luck!

How about one of the local parks that have pavillions? We have kid's birthday parties there all the time.
