I was first put on Clomid in August 2005, got pregnant and had a miscarriage in October. Then I took Clomid again starting in February 2006 and got pregnant in April with twins. They are now 15 months old. My husband and I did IUI and I was seeing a fertility specialist, so my chances of having multiples was higher. Twins do run in my family though.

I have tried clomid - it was a few years ago... It did not work the first time around. I was an emotional wreck... But was (and still am) willing to go through it again. I had really bad night sweats and really had to keep my emotions in check. My husband and I decided to not do a second round at the time but will be trying it again soon. We have moved and will be visiting a new doctor. This is not to say it will not work for you or you will have the same symptoms. After going through the clomid and doing some research on it - many women seem to have many different reactions to it! Just talk it over with your doctor so you know some of the "side-affects" to possibly expect. I just don't think my doctor at the time told me enough about what I might feel so I wasn't as prepared. Good luck!!

I was on clomid about 6 months before seeing a fertility specialist. I found out the clomid was making my cysts bigger (and supposedly that stopped me from getting pregnant). I took a series of shots for a week or so, and ended up having an IUI. It worked! I did all this in one month. I had twin girls! I only had two eggs...

Twins run in both our families!

I have had both of my children through clomid. Only took 1 or 2 rounds to get pregnant each time. Twins run in my family and I have only had 1 baby each time.

I took it, and it didn't work on me. But, I did have lots of side effects. It didn't work becuase my tubes were totally blocked, something my specialist checked first of all, but my OBGYN already had me on Clomid for 6 months. I got prego after my tubes were "blown out" - like my lingo? So, what I learned from all this was, go to a specialist, start with the small stuff first and meds, are not always the answer. But, if you have done all that, learn to sweat! Clomid maked me feel like a post- menapausel woman with the hot flashes :0). My husband didn't mind becuase I would just start stripping for no reason durning the evening, so that might helps heat things up :)

Good luck.

I've done tons of rounds of clomid. After 3 yrs of doing it on and off (you are supposed to take a little break after every 6th cycle) I got pregnant on it (along with IUI aka artificial insemination) I delivered a singleton.

December 2006, I got pregnant on clomid alone with a singleton-but that ended in a m/c.

Per my RE (reproductive Endocrinologist) the likelihood of multiples on clomid is less than 5%, although it can happen.

Are you seeing an RE or your regular OB?

Side effects can be difficult. Some include stomach pains/cramps, mood swings/irritability, double or blurred vision, headaches, hot flashes, night sweats. Luckily the only thing I suffered from was vision issues as night.

A website you can visit is www.fertilethoughts.com
It has been a lifesaver for me and so many other women. There are lots of women on there that are going thru the exact same thing as you. First timers and veterans.

Good Luck!

I'm taking clomid now...this is my fourth round and no pregnancy yet. There was one month, I couldn't go in for my progesterone blood test on day 21 because of the yucky weather and they made me do that dose again the next month. So make sure whatever you do, you stick with the appointments.
I haven't had any side effects...just a lot of frustration and let down when it doesn't work. But that's me, a lot of people get pregnant easily with it. I know it's usually the dr.'s first choice when trying to conceive before resorting to the more invasive and very expensive things. I really encourage you to try it and it only costs me $27 w/o insurance coverage. Good luck!

My sister in law took this twice, both times she got pregnant on the first round. No twins.
