M., I had some of the same issues with my son early on. What I did was finger feed him using a syringe with a little tube. You put the little tube on your index finger and then put it in her mouth and while she sucks, you slowly press the plunger on the syringe, which is filled with breast milk or formula. It is hard to find the syringe and tubing but a lactation consultant can help you find them. I got mine from the lactation consultant at Mercy Gilbert. I learned this from my sister-in-law who did this to supplement her twins in the beginning. Good luck and don't give up!

You should take her to the doctor. She needs to be eating. No one is going to be able to give you a definative answer about why she won't eat all of a sudden but a doctor. If she isn't eating and hasn't had a wet diaper in 6-8 hours you should take her the the emergency room or urgent care (since its the weekend). She is more than likely dehydrated & will need some IV fluids.

As long as she is not losing weight, she doesn't need to be encouraged to eat more. It is normal for babies to vary how much they eat as they grow faster and slower at different times. 2 months old is one of those times. As long as she is healthy and growing, you don't need to worry about it.

See a doctor. There may be a real reason why she won't eat. Before she gets sick- SEE A DOCTOR.

I guess I would say keep offering her the breast (or the bottle, if you prefer). If you are only offering the bottle because you think it is an issue with the breast, I would say stick with the breast. She will not allow herself to starve. She'll eat once she gets hungry enough. It may be a nursing strike (look that up online, or specifically look at www.kellymom.com).

Are you producing enough milk? How often is she nursing or eating right now?

stick to one formula at a time. all the changes may be making her fussy. if she wont eat at all then change to another but breast milk is the best for babies anyway. if you have enough milk then try to do that exclusively for a while.
is her wieght changing? if she is losing weight then she needs to be seen by the pediatrician immedialtEY

Hi Maria,
My baby is breast fed as well and awhile ago he refused to take a bottle from his Grandmas when I would leave. I finally realized he needed a different size nipple on the bottle because he was older. Maybe try that. Also, he may be starting to fill up faster as he gets older so it may seem like he's not getting as much as he really is. I would call a lactation consultant to find out for sure. The one I talk to is Jenny at the store Every Mother and Child. Her website is wwww.everymotherandchild.com. If you go in, she can weigh him to make sure he's getting something to eat.

Sounds like she might have reflux. I would talk to her doctor to see if that could be what it is.

Talk to the doctor. At two months she have collic but she needs to eat to grow. You don't want her dehydrated or sick. Take her into emergency if need be.
