Hi moms -
I am a happy a happily married and proud stay at home mom of a 4 year old and a 23 month old boy. All the men in my life are amazing to me...but I still have that urg to try for a girl. However, my husband keeps saying he is done having children and is happy with our two boys. Welllllll...then one night, he decided he didn't want to be so careful...TaDa...now we wait. I am so excited and not even sure at the same time if it is possible that I could be pregnant...it was the last day of my period...I was only spotting though. I have this glimpse of hope in me, but I am wondering if I am just setting myself up for dissapointment. Anyone have any feed back on this, or opnions, or facts about the possibilities? I would love to hear it all. Now I just have to wait for the missed period...I pray that it happens. Can you all pray with me?!! :)

Thank you so much
proud M. of two

Not by any means am I an expert but personal experience....I didn't know I was pregnant because my first 2 months I spotted lightly both times and just brushed it off. Don't by any means take this as you are but I was definitely pregnant. Good luck! I hope your husband comes around to wanting another. Pray about it!

I think it's doubtful that you are pregnant since it wouldn't be the right time in your cycle to conceive. But, I'm sure stranger things have happened.

I hope I'm not over-stepping here, and forgive me if I am, but if hubby doesn't want another child...would you really want to be pregnant? He decided to throw caution to the wind one time and I'm sure he would love your 3rd child to no end, but I guess I just feel it should be a decision that you make together and BOTH want.

And, I say that as someone with two boys and who wouldn't mind another baby. My husband (an amazing father) is absolutely done, though. I asked him just last week what he would do if I was pregnant and the look on his face was priceless. He really isn't ready for another one and most likely won't be.

Good luck and I hope that whatever the test shows in a couple of weeks, it's for the best!

Hi M. P.
Since you are truly wanting this 3rd baby and your husband has a hint of desire too (I would say he does because he would have been VERY careful-and men know that!!) then I will pray along side of you for this baby.

You know, God creates miracles. Plain and simple. Last day of your period or not....God is not limited to our scientific evidence or theories. I'm not saying you are definately pregnant but I know that it is not impossible. Believe me, I have friends who were told they would never have kids because of what was "proved" to be wrong with their female organs, etc and God still performed miracles. I have one friend who tried for 10 years and then all of a suddnen she was pregnant and now has her 2nd biological child.
I would say though that if you find you aren't pregnant to really sit down with your husband and have a talk. Also, I am learning right now in my life that TIME is my best friend. We have to allow God the time to work things out in our life. If you aren't pregnant then it just wasn't God's timing. Also, keep praying for your husband and ask God that if it's HIS will for the two of you to have another baby then PLEASE tug his heart little by little to open up to the possiblity. Prayer works wonders and who knows...one day your husband may come out and have the desire to have another baby....and you'll know why...cuz you've trusted in God and gave it to Him in prayer!
God Bless and many prayers!!!
Jenny

hey M. p how are this.i can so relate to this one i have two boys 11&7 and finally got my baby girl she is 17 months old.i also really wanted a girl so bad and i would have probably been a little heart broken if she was a boy but i would have loved him just as much.wow for all my kids i did all the research and everything and for some reason it always worked for me so my advice is do your homework and reguardless how stupid it sounds try it you never know it might just work.and for your hubby it only takes one time and if he didnt want to be careful one night maybe he warming up to a daddys little girl.my daughter has my hubby wrapped around her little finger.so best of luck i really hope you get your girl they are so much fun!!!!!

I wish you well because you really seem to want to have another child. But, it's ONLY been barely two years since your youngest was born. If you are not pregnant now, you may be better off waiting another year just to let your body recuperate more. Most people don't realize that it takes a woman FOUR YEARS to get through all the changes of having a child.

Good Luck

Prayers for you and positive *baby girl* vibes to you. That maternal urge is the strongest thing in the universe!

I hear you that you want a girl - have you thought about how you'll feel if you do get pg again and it's a boy? I have a close friend who was pretty disappointed after her fourth boy, although of course she loves all her boys dearly.... she was so sure this one would be a girl, she even went Barbie shopping and everything only to learn - she had to donate them and go buy more boy-stuff.

If the only BC you're using is that your hubby has to 'be careful' - guess what, that doesn't work ;-) He probably knows that too, right? If it doesn't stick this time, sooner or later it will.

hugs,

W.

Hi M.! I have no personal experience but my girlfriend who is pregnant spotted for 2 months during the time she would have had her period. The 3rd month she had nothing and the Dr. has confirmed her pregnancy. So it is possible. This is her 2nd pregnancy. Hope this helps.

Hey there! From what you're saying about the time in your cycle when you had unprotected sex, it is highly unlikely that you would get pregnant. However, like another member said, stranger things have happened!

I am a mom of 2 - a boy and a girl. I can't relate to the struggle you must have with wanting to have a little girl. I hope that hubby comes around and decides he would like to try one more time. But like another member said, you definitely want his seal of approval on this because, no matter how adorable and sweet they are, he might end up resenting if he had a different blueprint for your lives. Also, what happens if you do get pregnant and it's another boy? Would you hold any resentments yourself? I can't imagine the struggle you must have. It sounds like you have a very happy life, though, and are a great mom! Lucky you - getting to stay home. And how lucky your boys are, too. Good luck - I really hope you get your wish!!!
