E Where to Have My Baby's First Birthday

My son turns 1 in March and I need some ideas for his first birthday party, It won't be anything big, it will be just some family and few friends. We live in an apartment, so I prefer if possible to have the birthday party somewhere else, with a little more room and more seating.

We aren't trying to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars either as it's the 1st birthday. I rather wait until our son is older and knows.

Any suggestions would be great. For the locals, I prefer something in Palm Beach County (boca/delray/boynton/lake worth area), as most of my family lives there.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We are planning on keeping the 1st birthday party simple, we just need to find a place to hold the birthday party as our apartment is very small and can't really fit that many people comfortably for the party.

Need suggestions of local places to hold a party that is reasonably priced

Does your apartment complex have a "community" area or room that you could rent? Or, being in FL, an outdoor pool area?

How about a park? Or if anyone you know has access to a party room just set something up there.

Have it someplace that will be easy for you, because you will want to concentrate on your child and capturing those memories. It really isn't about the venue, the food, the presents, or anything, but about truly remembering the day your child turned one. Have fun! Take lots of pictures!! But designate someone ELSE to be the picture taker, because YOU want to focus on baby, baby, baby! (And be in some of the pictures!)

We just had my son's 1st b-day party last weekend. We had it at my parents house since their house is bigger and has more seating and floor area that I do. Just my family, my parents, my brothers family and our best friends family. That is 8 adults and 6 kids. It was perfect! We had chips and a veggie/cheese tray, pizza and cake. Nice and easy and everyone was able to be in the moment and just enjoy. So I am just seconding the advice to go simple I guess :)

There are no local places that are reasonably priced - sorry! Welcome to the birthday party nightmare!

See if any of your relatives will allow you to have the party at their house. If possible, bring a pack n' play for when baby wants to nap.

If that isn't possible, than I would suggest just doing without elbow room and having it in your apartment. Even a park will cost you between 50-175 to rent a pavillion and in Broward County parks you can't use a pavillion unless you rent them - seriously, even if they are not being used!

You say you live in an apt. Do they have a clubhouse or room that you can use / rent? That might work also? Good luck! C.

Could you have it at your parents' house? Have like a BBQ or even order pizza and have cake.
