You might try a dry cloth and use a hot iron on top of the cloth. I know that it works for candle wax

Use toothpaste! I read in a magazine about 6 months ago that toothpaste would get permant marker off of anything. I never really thought about it, and then my 2 year old got ahold of a black permant marker and wrote on my computer monitor. I was freaking out and then rememebered about the toothpaste. I apply a good amount of toothpaste directly on the spot, then I use a old toothbrush and some water, it might take some scrubbing but it should come off. I've used it to get permant marker, and crayons off my monitor, table, woodwork, toys, and even my couch and so far it's always worked. Good luck!!

Someone already suggested it, but I have to second Shaklee's Basic H2 and Nature Bright idea. That stuff rocks and will clean ANYTHING. It's truly amazing - and all natural so non-toxic!

Having owned my own carpet cleaning company, I will tell you that Pam R was 100% right! We would go to the dollar store and buy a ton of cheap WHITE terry cloth hand towels, and that's what you need to use when you iron out wax or crayon or if you are using the press method to soak up a stain. If your towel has ANY color, it most likely will transfer into the carpet, and then you really have a mess. Brown paper bags are okay to use too, but most people don't get "paper" anymoe. Press with the iron - don't move it around.

I had black marker in my off-white berber carpet, in the middle of the family room. Spot Shot (sold with other carpet cleaning products in most stores--blue and silver spray can with an orange lid) took it right out. It's a miracle product, and has been in my arsenal of cleaning supplies ever since.

Hi N., I have been told to use a brown paper grocery bag or some kind of brown bag put it over the crayon and use a warm iron and it should take it up. I myself a few years ago spilled hot candle wax on our carpet and was told then to use the brown paper and iron and it would take it up but it didn't. Crayon would be different because it wouldn't be hot. If she ever colors on a wall I found the best thing to clean it off is tooth paste. It worked for me. Good Luck

N., there is a product called Goof-off, you can get it at any carpet store, it smells like lighter fluid (YUK) but it works on everything! I had spilled red candle wax on my creme carpet and it came up no problem!!!!!

As you know crayon is wax. Try an iron set on low. Put a paper towel between the carpet and the iron. The heat should melt the crayon to the paper towel. Do not rub back and forth or you will run the risk of spreading the blue. I've never tried this with crayon myself to be honest but since your carpet is pretty much ruined, it can't hurt. I have tried it with candle wax and works wonders!!

I've heard WD-40 works but I've never tried it.

I would try Basic H2 and Nature Bright. Both are non-toxic and work great. The combo may be needed for the wax. I can let you know how to get some. I use Basic H2 to help prevent diaper rash to stopping misquito bite itchies and my windows and so much more. It's great because it is inexpensive and does so much and I don't need to worry about exposing my kid to chemicals.

Best product for anything in carpet is SpotShot.

It may be wise to have your daughter "help" clean this up.
Both of my children decided to write on the walls, and so, they got the pleasure of cleaning it up. Be sure to put
rubber gloves on her hands and will probably cure the coloring on everything problem.

Iron a Paper Towel over it, but make sure the paper towel is damp and then put the hot iron over it and it should come out. I did this with candle wax and most came right out but left the stain. I was suppose to put rubbing alcohol on the stain to take it out but haven't got there yet, so if yours leaves a stain, try that and see if it works.

I had candle wax drip all over my tanish carpet once.
Take a brown paper sack and place it on top of the crayon and iron over it with med. heat. It took my candle wax right up.

Take a paper bag or a rag, heat up the iron on medium, put the rag over the crayon mark, then put some waxed paper on top of it wax side down and place the iron on top, do not move the iron back and forth as it can spread it a little more. This will pull the waxy crayon out of the carpet. White vinegar should remove the rest of the stain should any little discoloration remain.

Try using your iron. Put down a rag (that you know will get ruined) and steam the crayon out with the iron. The crayon attracts itself to the cloth.

A friend who has worked in the carpet cleaning business for 17yrs, says use a brown paper bag and an iron, it seems to work better than the paper towels.

Put a towel over the crayon and then use an iron to melt the crayon. The towel should absorb the metlted crayon.

If it were the wall or fabric I would say iron it off using loads of paper towels. I would honestly think goo gone would be oksay as long as you don totally wet the surface and the excess runs down into the jutt backing. If the carpet is wool you could press it out. But if it's a manmade fiber it will melt and very quickly too. If in doubt check in a coorner than you don't see or under a piece of furniture that you would never move. You could do that with the goo gone too to make sure how much to use. Good luck.

I've been told to use wax paper and a low setting on the iron. Put the waxy side down on the carpet and iron the non waxey side. The wax or hopefully crayon will adhere to the wax paper. I did this when i had candle wax on my carpet and it took it right up. The Mr. Clean magic sponge is amazing for taking crayon, etc. off of walls.
