My daughter drew a picture in the carpet using crayon. It looks like she colored the carpet fibers. There isn't anything to pick off or remove using an iron. Any advice how I can remove the crayon?
There is a great product out on the market called Spot Shot. It is made by the same company that makes WD-40. It comes in an aerosol can that is orange and blue. You spray it on and let soak in for about a minute. Then press firmly with a dry white cloth on it. The stain attaches to the cloth. I've even successfully removed rust.
I just had crayon in my dryer...use WD40 on a rag and scrub it. It should wipe right off. Then when you are all done, scrub that area with soap & water to get the WD40 off.
My hubby spilled red kool aid on our new carpet and yes I saw rage!! But I took D. ORIGINAL dish soap (the blue kind) and mixed it in a bucket of hot water. Take a white rage and soak it in the bucket then ring it out. Place it over the stain and set your iron on yop of it on a low setting for 10 min. Repeat as needed you will see the stain begin to lift. I have to think crayons are easier to get out then koolaid! Best of luck
I'm not sure what kind of crayon it was, but a lot of them are washable nowadays. When my son gets crayon on my cream colored carpet or on the sofa, I have used both clorox wipes (actually a different brand), and on rugs, I threw them in the machine and it came off. The only time I use the WD-40 is when he writes on the walls. Not sure I would want to add oil to the carpet. I may also have used my Little Green Machine on larger spots on the carpet. I'm not that gentle, and I'm afraid I would burn my carpet if I tried an iron.

The only thing I've ever heard of was putting a paper towel over the area and ironing the paper towel. The paper towel is supposed to soak up the crayon.
My girlfriend had candle stuck on her carpet and she snipped off the carpet fibers that were colored.
Carpet cleaning services often offer ways to clean and dye carpet spots. I think it was like $30 per spot, but that was a while ago when we had the carpet fixed.
I've never had to deal with it, but I've heard WD-40 works wonders on crayons.
My advise is the same as Lauri J's, except try using a single thickness of brown paper grocery bag instead of the towel with the warm iron. It works WONDERFULLY!!!
My daughter got mad and colored on our brand new carpet with a green crayon. I was livid! I called the carpet company and they suggested using Goo-gone and dabbing the spot carefully. Use a white cloth to help pull it up. They also said then to dilute it well because if you use too much it can also break down the glue holding the fibers to the carpet backing. It worked great but I was nervous using the goo gone. Good luck!

You can try this... it may help in getting it off the fibers
I remember seeing this on Martha Stewart- place a dry towel, or paper towel over the stain, place a warm iron on top and press down.. the iron will melt the wax and transfer it on to the towel
I get all of my household products from a wellness company and they have an amazing product that takes crayon out of carpet. My 2y/o drew on our floors also. :( luckily I got it out without using anything that could harm him or the dogs. :)
