Help...I just moved into a home with all stainless steel appliances and have no idea how to keep them looking nice, as nice as you can with 3 kids and a husband. I wipe them down everyday and the streaks are terrible looking! Cleaning solutions???

I also use bar keepers friend, but then after cleaning them with that I wipe mine down with a soft rag with baby oil on it, then with a clean rag. The baby oil keeps the SS from getting fingerprints on them. It also makes them shine. I know it sounds crazy but it really works.

My mother-in-law gave me a container of Barkeeper's Friend for my pots and pans and I've used it on every piece of stainless steel that I own. It works like magic. It dispenses as a powder but moisten a wet rag and rub gently into your appliances and I promise they will sparkle and shine. And, they will clean your pots and pans until they shine like new. And, it is very, very affordable...I just bought a large can at Wal-Mart for $1.67. It's a mainstay in my cleaning supplies.

I just recently tried Green Works by Clorox. It worked as good as the stuff the appliance manufacturer suggested, and it is also safe for countertops.

I also have a kitchen full of stainless steel. I go between stainless wipes and Lysol Kitchen and Bath these both seem to work very well for me with very little if any streaks.

I don't have SS appliances, but we recently bought a SS trash can from Bed Bath & Beyond, and the salesman that helped us also sold us a special mitten for cleaning the outside of the trash can. You wet it and it removes the streaks. The mitten cost $5, can be washed in the washer and is of course reusable, so it might be a useful for cleaning the streaks after your other cleaning.
