For Halloween I am going as a "Roman Goddess," my four year old is going as a Gladiator and Daddy is going as a Gladiator as well... I have a 2 1/2 month old, who by Halloween will be 3 days shy of four months and I need a costume for him... I have looked everywhere and can't find anything that ties in with the roman theme..So I was just thinking Toga.. so I guess my question is HOW DO I MAKE A BABY TOGA. Or does anyone have any other ideas for him!?!

What can I do next?

All really cute ideas! You can also dress up his stroller as a chariot! Wrap the stroller handles in rope, use gold tissue paper as liner...

Use a pillowcase! Seriously, this is how we made greek outfits in college. Find a pillowcase for a throw pillow/decorative pillow, grab a pair of scissors and go to town! You could make him a little crown of laurel leaves and tie a gold rope around his belly. Add a pair of sandals and you're all set!

You could also use a white baby blanket and just wrap it around him using baby diaper pins. I would still go with the laurel crown and the gold sash! Cute idea!!

I would buy a cheap white sheet and cut it to fit the baby and make a toga that ties over one shoulder. Or you may even be able to use a pillow case. Cut it open to wrap and tie around the baby. In my mind it seems like it would be fairly easy to do, but invisioning it and actually making it are two different things :-)

If u can sew, just little sewing. Find some leather looking fabric, make a "Lon" cloth (not sure of spelling). Just a single stitch around the top to hold the elastic in or even fabric glue. Then a single stitch around bottom to keep from fraying. And then make a sash out of the same fabric or have a family color like they did back then. And target sometimes has foam weapons in the $1 section at front. If not I think I saw some at toys r us. Good luck!!

I love these ideas.
And we are doing the same thing.
We are going as Mercury, Bacchus, Athene, Artemis and Eros to a Halloween party.
