Hi Moms!
I am in the process of trying to decide if I am going to send my kids (I have 3) to Aurora Christian School. So far I am leaning towards sending them, but I am concerned about the cost. I just want to make sure it's worth it. I would love to hear some input from moms, the pros and cons. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My husband and I both attended ACS from 7-12th grade. We loved it. (It's where we met!) The cost is very high, but the reward is so much greater. I graduated in '99, and at that time, ACS was 2 years ahead of the public schools. They don't have as many "extras" that the public schools offer, such as sports, art classes and all of the social clubs. But, if academics, great teachers, and a safe environment are what you are looking for: I would definitely send them. Good luck on your decision!

Hi, J.,

I would be glad to provide some input on ACS! Our son and daughter have both attended the preschool, and are now in the elementary school in 4th grade and Kindergarten. We have been very pleased with the high academic standards, wonderful teachers, and awesome friendships. I believe the school is a good value for the money, and more reasonable in cost than some other area private schools I researched.

If you are in District 129, there is bus service available, but otherwise, you have to drive your kids to school. Carpooling is an option, and the office can provide a list of families in your zip code if interested.

There is an Open House on Thursday 1/22 from 6-7:30PM which you are welcome to attend. The website is aurorachristian.org, and you could certainly call the office at either campus for more information.

My husband knows one of the administrators very well, and many people from our church send their kids there. I've heard nothing but good things about ACS, and will most likely send my daughter there if we still live in the area at that time.

My husband and I are anti- private school. We feel that the money you would spend on tuition can be invested to pay for college and used to supplement what the public school offers. The only reason we would not use public school is if the school was not safe.

Just my opinion. I can't see spending thousands of dollars a year/month on education when you are already spending thousands through property taxes.

I do not personally send my children there, but I have a lot of friends who do. They love it! From what i understand it's a great place. I have also heard good things about St. Pauls and St. Luke's.
