At a 3-4TH Baby What Are the Odds That I'll Make It Till Monday?

Mamasource has been my life this week-So in need of knowledge.

I went to the doctor yesterday and my mid-wife said I was soft and a 3 and we went ahead and planned for my sons induction on Monday (husband is a pilot trying to make sure he's here :))
I've mentioned that to a couple of people and they say I won't make it till Monday. My mid-wife didn't seem too concern. But now I'm worried my mom isn't scheduled to be here until Saturday and my dear husband is leaving tomorrow till Saturday morning before he starts his FLMA...
Should I maybe see if I should get checked again to see if I'm done anything in one day? Yesterday was the first time I had been checked. And to be honest I've had the worst Braxton Hicks I don't know what's real or not anymore.

I KNOW....you would think after having three already I'd know a little more.

Many Thanks,

What can I do next?

Thought this might help. I was dilated to 3 for 3 weeks with my second baby and over a week I was at a 4-5. Then I had to be induced so you just never know you could make it another week. Congrats and good luck.

Who knows! I wish the best for you, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it all. Many posters have said they were half way there for a long time, but the opposite can happen, too. I was checked right before my ob broke my water - big fat NOTHING. 2 hours and 4 minutes later, my son was delivered and screaming. You just never can tell. Good luck!

Like a few of the other ladies, I was dialated 3cm for three straight weeks. Even they day I went in to be induced I was a "tight six" according to the doctor and still wasn't in active labor. Crazy, huh? Anyway, I would recommend taking it very easy, limit any long periods of walking, infact, if it's even possible, try and lay down (on your left side, of course) as much as you can. May not be feasible since you do have three others to care for. Best wishes for a safe and easy delivery whenever it may be.

I don't think you will make it myself. But anytime I've been over a two, I've been in labor even at 6 weeks early with my second. Are you spotting? Have you lost your mucous plug? Time your contractions, Braxton Hicks or not, for an hour and call the doctor if they are 10 minutes apart or so. Let your doctor know your situation. Do you have someone who can step in and watch your other children at a moments notice? If not get your Mom to come early or husband to not leave. Congratulations and good luck.

There really is no way to predict it, some people walk around dialated 3-4 cm for weeks & some people start at 1 and have their baby by morning ;) I don't bother with internal checks at the end of pregnancy personally.

Laughing at your sig, seems that bc doesn't work for you ;) Good luck with your upcoming labor/birth!

Usually the 4th would be faster, right? How were your 2nd/3rd compared to the 1st? Bless your heart. I'm so sorry. If you need help, please ask... asking is scary... but I'm offering. You don't know me... I know that... I'm just saying...

This is a hard one, my friend has been at a 3 for about 2 weeks already. Now my mom (who also had 4 all off birth control also ;)), she spent hours in labor with me, #2, and #4, no #3 came in like an hour and a half, she didnt even have time to get in a room, she had her in the hallway!!! I think it just depends on you or really the baby and how fast he/she wants to join his/her family!!! I would just time it cause i thought i was having the braxton hicks with my second (since i had them with my first) and it turned out i was haveing "small" back labor pains. I know i didnt really help much, but anyway, CONGRATS, God Bless, and Good Luck!! oh and dont worry about not always knowing my mom had 4 my youngest sister is 13 today and she still doesnt know everything!!!;)

You can make it til Monday...I was a 3 for like 2 weeks with my first! Do you know how fast you progressed with your others? Ask your mid-wife...obviously no one can predict when the baby will actually decide its time to come, but if she doesn't seem concerned about it, I wouldn't be either!

Good luck and Congrats!
