I heard a lot of really good experience with Russino & Chasteney Associates in Paoli. However, I am concerned about Dr. Joseph Russino in the group as I got mixed review about him. Some people feel Dr. Russino is an excellent doctor with a wonderful bedside manner but others think he was very rushed, impatient and rude. I also heard he did a bad c-section. I wonder if anyone has experience with him and could you let me know how his skills from your experience? Thank you!

I will add my agreement on Russino. I go to that practice and was delivered there. I did not like Russino at all. But I LOVE Marlino so I go there. Not ever seeing Russino is not a problem, I just don't schedule with him. I did the same thing with my OB appts, stayed away from who I didn't like. Russino is my least favorite followed closely by Anthopolous (mostly because he tried to scare me into a c-section weeks before by due date - totally unwarranted). Marlino is my absolute favorite followed closely by Chasteney.

Good luck.

I would tend to agree with most of what you heard. The rest of the people in the group are good, but I would not choose to have anything done by him. I don't mind seeing him in the office for my OB appointments (as long as I don't have any issues), but I don't think I would let him near me for anything invasive. I find his bedside manner to sometimes be rushed, but always pleasant & reassuring. I have also heard (from reliable sources) of many "bad" c-sections that he has performed. He did not do my last c-section & Dr. Marlino from that group is doing my next in a few months.

That's my practice, & Dr. Russino is great. He's old-school - you need to ask questions, he won't necessarily volunteer info, but I always found him to be personable and competant. I was past my due date, and my BP was increasing, & he fought to get me into Paoli in a reasonable time so my baby & I would both be safe. I understand people's reservations - but it's just his personality. For instance, I really don't like Dr. anthopolus - he freked me out during my pregnancy & was not reassuring at all. I don't however, think he's a bad Dr., & I would see him, just keep in mind hhis personality.
I was a patient of Dr. Kambin before she left the practice, & I saw all of the Dr's in the practice while pregnant. They are all extremely professional and very talented. You shouldn't have any reservations being with that practice.

I go to that practice, and had both of my kids with them. Anthopolous is my primary and I really like him, although he talks fast :) I never had a bad experience with ANY doc in the practice, although I don't know the newest female too well- I did see her once and liked her. Dr. Marlino is my favorite of all of them. I only saw Russino twice during both pregnancies and during my post delivery follow-up in the hospital and really liked him. The best thing about the practice is that all of the doctor's are great- and honestly if you start to like one of the other you can just start scheduling appts with that one (I did that at the end of my first pregnancy- one of the docs who was no longer there was pregnant the same time I was so I just felt really comfortable with her and saw her my last few appts. She wound up delivering me). Good luck!
