Hi. I'm 22 weeks pregnant and thinking about switching ob/gyn's because I really don't want to deliver at Chester County Hospital. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Main Line Ob/gyn and/or Paoli Hospital and what they thought of it. Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Main Line Women's Health-delivered 5 of my babies, need I say more? Great experience. Highly recommend Dr. Dein and Bernardini, but all are great. I delivered at Bryn Mawr Hospital-wish I could have gone to Paoli, but they were brand new back then. Paoli maternity is top notch

Paoli is WONDERFUL! We had a great experience there. They were stuffed to the gills when I delivered, but they still were great! My OB is Russino, Chastney, Marlino & associates. I don't know who Main Line OB/GYN is, but my OB practce was awesome. I felt confident in any of the Docs in the practice. Hope that helps!

Waste NO TIME. Main Line OB/GYN are absolutely fantastic physicians. Both of my children were delivered by Dr. Theresa Marlino at the Paoli Hospital - which as I understand it, has just completed a muti-million dollar renovation. A co-worker of mine just had a baby Friday at Paoli and says that the Maternity Ward is just spectacular with very large, comfortable and family friendly birthing suites. My first delivery took a turn for the worse and I ultimately ended up having a C-Section. The doctors didn't rush into the C-Section and let me labor for several hours while keeping a close eye on the baby...but in the end the C-Section was necessary. The practice is full of wonderful physicians and stafff who are very friendly, charismatic and generally decent people who will be more than willing to take the time to answer all of your questions. I HIGHLY recommend the practice and the hospital. Chester County Hospital garners a tremendous amount of attention in this area - when in fact Paoli is an often overlooked GEM. The maternity nurses also deserve a tremendous amount of credit. They were so helpful and informative. After having my first child - and really having no clue with how to handle the baby, breast feed the baby, bathe the baby.....they taught me the lesson that the baby was really not as fragile as I might have fancied it to be and really showed me the ropes. It was with their help that I was able to leave the hospital feeling fully confident with being a new mother.

I can assure you, you will be happy with this decision.
The physicians of the practicew are Dr. Marlino, Dr. Russino, Dr. Chasteney, Dr. Anthropoulus.... a great team all around.

I had a wonderful experience with both. I hardly had to wait for any of my (many) appointments at Main Line OB and the doctors were all great. The only downside is that it's a big practice, so you never know who will deliver you. That wasn't a big deal for me, as I wasn't attached to anyone in particular and it was my second child. Paoli Hospital was wonderful - great nursing staff and very, very attentive. Very nice facilities, especially when compared with Pennsylvania Hospital in the city, where I delivered my first child. I would definitely recommend both.

hi G.! i delivered at lankenau (part of MLH - paoli, bryn mawr, lankenau) and had a terrific experience there. i have many, many friends who have delivered at one of the 3 MLH hospitals, all with good experiences... but i think chester county is also a very nice hospital. i'm not personally familiar with their labor and delivery department, but do believe that the hospital has a good reputation. lankenau, in particular, has a high level nicu (neonatal icu), so you do feel 'extra' safe, in case of any issues with the baby during labor...

I love Main Line Ob/Gyn and Paoli. All 3 of my babies were delivered by Dr. Krell at Paoli. I needed a c-section each time, and I did end up with some serious complications after my last. Everyone was absolutely wonderful, and I truly believe the care I received saved my life (the complications were not due to medical errors, etc.). The maternity nurses at Paoli are superb almost without exception, and the unit is very family-centered with larger rooms (usually private as well).

As for Main Line ObGyn, I love Dr. Krell and have been lucky enough to have "my" doc deliver all of my babies. I did occasionally see some of the other docs though, and I also like Dr. Manfrey. I've actually always received good care from all the docs in the practice, but Krell and Manfrey are the ones I have the most experience with.

I don't think you can go wrong with Paoli or Main Line Ob/Gyn. Good luck with your choice!

LOVE THEM! I could praise them all day everyday fro the rest of my life! We had some complications that they were very attentive to, the nursing staff was fantastic, and they pretty much did everything right. What could have turned out horribly went seamless. The only complaint i had was that the hoispital itself was under construction when we were there, but it was more of a nusiance for parking than anything else. They listened to our needs and were wonderful. The only staffer that was an issue was the anestesiologist- she was a bit crabby. I plan to deliver the next one there too!
Good luck!

Main Line OB/GYN is fabulous. All 3 of my children were delivered by them. Paoli Hospital is wonderful. I completely recommend both choices. The only person in the practice I dislike no longer delivers babies (Dr. Manfrey). Everyone else is fantastic!

Loooooooved Paoli! I delivered all my three children there (last one 3 months ago) and they were absolutely wonderful. My practice was Great Valley OB/GYN (a practice of four women doctors) and I would highly recommend them. I have nothing but good things to say about Paoli and the facilities are beautiful! Best of luck with whatever you decide!
