Hello Everyone,
I am looking for a new general practicioner for myself. I am 33 years old and in good health. I would prefer a female Dr. who is abe to give me a pap smear during my physical(so i don't need to see a gyn, too) I live in Berwyn and would like to travel no further than Paoli(West) or Wayne(East). I also see a neurologist for migraines in Bryn Mawr and would love to switch to Paoli...if any one has a good rec. Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I'm interested in your responses for myself, too! However, I strongly caution you from not having a OBGYN. My sister in law did her yearly visits with her GP and they miss stuff! She had fibriod for YEARS and went undaignosed. She finally had to have them removed and have a complete hyterectomy, which could have been avoided if she would have been daignosed eariler. Your pap smear every year is NOT the only reason to see a GYN. They are specialists for a reason! Most insurance plans cover your yearly with a OBGYN, so why take the risk? BTW, I love my OB GYN practice - Russino, Chastney, Marlino & assoc. They're in Paoli & are fantastic. They handled my daughter's delivery & I couldn't have been happier. Since then they've been great too.
Good luck!

I just got referred to this place across from Paoli hospital-it is the best ever. They are so friendly at the front desk and don't just treat your part of a "cattle call". The doctors are all women and I like that too instead of seeing a male doctor who doesn't even know how it feels to be a woman. Okay so if I have convinced you enough, here is the number:Women for Women ###-###-####

I'm not sure about a GP, but as far as a neurologist goes for migraines, I see Dr. Craig Gardner at Paoli Hospital. He is on the younger side (30s with young kids) & is in practice with an older guy Dr. Graham. I have heard good things about Dr. Graham too. I have had a good experience with Dr. Gardner although once someone in their office billing staff was quite rude to me on the phone. That's my only gripe.

Lots of great doctors at Penn at Radnor. You have to wait a bit for your first appt, but it is worth the wait.
