Halo Snuza--Alert System When Baby Stops Breathing

Has anyone used the Halo Snuza. I saw a report on the show The Doctors yesterday about how it saved a baby's life when the baby stopped breathing, it alerted the parents. Then last night on Law & Order: SVU, the baby died of SIDS. I guess with it fresh in my mind, I'm wondering if it's worth it. I think it's worth the $100 a piece (I would need 2), but they also make mats that go under the babies, but I don't know if they are as effective?
