16 Month Old Still on Bottle

I know, many of you may say I am a bad mom, but I put oatmeal and baby food in my son's milk. He is 16 months old and still HAS to have 7oz Milk, 1 jar 2nd Baby food and 3 teaspoons of oatmeal in a bottle before bed and IF he wakes up in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning. I've tried putting it in a sippy cup, but he'll only take it out of the bottle. He will take a sippy cup the rest of the day and is very proficient in feeding himself everything else. I REALLY want to get him off the bottles completely. Do any of you...

Food Ideas for Milk Protein Allergy and Soy Allergy

My son was diagnosed at 5 days with a severe milk protein allergy. He is currently on Enfamil Nutramigen formula. When he turned one we had allergy testing done and discovered that he was allergic to milk and soy, which is pretty much in EVERYTHING! I am getting frustrated with trying to find different things things to feed him. (and frustrated trying to STOP family from feeding him things he is allergic to.) Any ideas or recipes that I could try that the whole family might enjoy? I prefer simple and easy, but I am willing to try almost...

For Those Spend $400 Month on Food

What are you eating? Seriously. Some of you are saying that amount INCLUDES soap / shampoo etc. I spend $600 per month on FOOD. Just food. No lotions, paper goods etc. JUST FOOD. :-( here is what we eat. Breakfast: I eat a banana/almond milk/ peanut butter smoothie (I am allergic to milk and eggs) Hubby and daughter each eat an egg (either fried or hard boiled) with a glass of milk and sometimes a yogurt. Lunch: We usually take leftovers from dinner (I will make extra portions) Daughter eats lunch at school (not...

10 Month Old Refuses to Eat Baby Food!!

I got such positive feedback on my son's sleeping issue I thought I would ask for advice on his eating baby food issue. He is 10 months old, 11 month on March 27th. He has always been a good eater when it came to babyfood, formula, whatever until about 2-3 months ago. He has 3 mealtimes a day, morning afternoon and evening and snacks inbetween. He is happy before I put him in his high chair to eat, even while I am getting his food ready he is happy, playing with the toys on his tray. I typically give him 3 things to eat, veggies, fruits,...

HELP- 18 Month Old Measuring Small

My daughter is almost 19 months but we had her 18 month checkup today. She weighed 21 lbs 8 oz and measured in the 9th percentile. I have not been worried about her weight (even though I knew she was small) because she ate a blanced diet (fruits, veggies, beans, cheese, etc.) and is meeting her milestones. She even has a little bit of a "belly." The only thing she really doesn't want to eat is meat. She has been known to out-eat my 4 year old son from time to time. The doctor, however, is concerned as her percentile has dropped. She...

Lunch Ideas for a Picky Eater

I need ideas for my daughter's lunch at school. She is 6 and in first grade. The only veggies she likes are mashed potatoes, lettuce, and carrot sticks. She won't eat lunch meat or tuna. She won't eat anything cold that is supposed to be hot, like pizza or hot dogs. There is no microwave available, and I can't send anything with peanut butter (school rule). I have been sending her with either a cheese pizza lunch kit (which is really unhealthy and she doesn't really like them cold) or a bagel with cream cheese. I add fresh fruit,...

What Do I Feed My 12 Month Old?

We just went to the doctor to get those wonderful 12 month shots. It actually went better than I had plan! My Doctor told me that I could take him off of formula now and the bottle completely and start feeding him fruits and other table foods. This is my first child and I was never around babies growing up. So, here's my question... what can I feed my 12 month old? He has two bottom teeth and 3 top teeth coming in. I am just afraid of him choking on something. Any ideas, I like ideas!! :)

Need Ideas for Transitioning to Table Food for Toddler

My son Marcus is almost 16 months old and still won't eat table food. He has 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom and gums that seem to be swollen ALL the time. His gums have been this way for months. He is generally happy and has a great disposition 96% of the time. Are there any suggestions on how to transition him to table food? I've tried Cheerios, Kix, french fries (god forbid), the Gerber Puffs, Gerber's baby version of Cheese puffs, and other similar things. He plays with them, he'll lick them, he may even bite them, but the...

Is Yogurt Ok for an 11 Month Old?

Hey ladies..im wondering what you all think about yogurt for babies? My girls are 11 months old..and i bought them the gerber yogurt and they seemed to like it...but it is so expensive! I have twins..so food goes fast. What about adult yogurts..like dannon..yoplait..generic brand? Do i need to make sure the yogurt has certain fats in it for them? I read the labels on the yogurts and most yogurts are made with skim milk or nonfat..so is that ok for my girls? Just want to get your thoughts on it...
