Yeast Diaper Rash

I just went through this with my 7 month old. Took her in and the doctor prescribe Lotrimin AF (Anti fungual cream-located in the Foot care aisle). We thought it was weird, but that's what the prescription stuff is...an antifungual. It worked wonders...after about two applications, we really could see a difference. We used it twice a day for a week and it cleared up so nicely! We now keep some on hand, just in case :)!!!
As for home remedies, I too, have heard Dial soap... :)

Have you tried switching dipers. I have added Dreft laundry soap to there bath. Bubble Bath then rinse and dry the bottoms really well. Baking soda mixed with water into a paste is suppose to help but have never tried it. (they say it burns or hurts really bad) If I remember any more I will let you know.

My doctor told me to mix equal parts lotrimin, desitin and hydracortizone. It works wonders!

my daughter had several yeast infections and I used acidolphilus, just mixed it into yogurt, which is also good.
I also cut out sugars and juice and I washed her bottom off in the sink. She stopped getting infections eventually and has not had one in over a year.

I use monoistat and it takes it right away. It really works!

This i really old school! My Mom and Dad always Mom told us old Dial bar soap to wash the whole good then use plain old Vaseline P.J.-in the jar and spread it over the whole area and do this several times a day,IT DOES WORK!!I also found out and have used on my granddaughter-now 7 yrs is that a product called BUTT PASTE, works good too, but both use P.JELLY. My daughter, who is now almost 3, has had many serious diaper rashes. Her skin in general has always been sensitive, especially as a young infant. Some of her diaper rashes have also been yeast infections. We have tried many things including powdered pro-biotics. What has worked best has been monitoring her fruit consumptions, especially strawberries----too much, or enough with little else in her stomach seem to lead to fast diaper rashes. Also using aquaphor everyday on her when we changed her diaper has been very helpful. In the end, if her rash became open sores, which did happen, we had to get a steriod cream from her doctor. We only needed to use it a few times with very small doses, but it cleared up so quickly with them.

Hi I have always used the genneric form of Lotermim and that has alway work on both of my children and that is all I ever use.

My daughter is now 6 but in the past I have given her chewable acidophilus and used diluted Tea Tree Oil on her tush. It worked wonders and is completely natural. I also have a friend who is convinced that tea bags in the diaper works wonders. It's an acid/base balancing issue.

I would also look at her sugar intake. Yeast feeds off of sugar. Hope that helps!
