we just bought a wii system and a wii fit plus used for a great deal! I was wondering if anyone uses wii fit plus and if it is actually something that can be used as a fitness routine to get a good workout. Any opinions?

What can I do next?

wii fit stinks.

oh, the games are fun. but they're not anything you'd call a workout if you're under 50. But they tend to be under 2 minutes long - tough to get a workout if you have to stop every 2 minutes.

we do use it for a scale, since we don't actually own a scale. and we play the games to have fun but not if we're really wanting to work out.

that said, there are some GREAT wii games that will make you sweat. Just
Dance, Zumba, and Active Life Explorer are all lots of fun and make you move.

Have fun!

No, not a great workout. The boxing and hula hooping are fun and the "best" workout on there, but just like the others said, not a great workout. Yoga is decent as well. I second the person who said "Just Dance". I bought Just Dance Kids for my girls and did it with them and sweat! So I went out this week and bought Just Dance 2 for me and holy cow, do I sweat! And it was fun! I have heard Zumba is really good too.

I would consider it a very low impact, mild workout. I wouldn't say you can get a "good" workout. I do love My Fitness Coach. (NOT fitness coach 2, but the original.) We added a step (you can use your wii step, but we just have a regular one) and weights. You unlock harder exercises as you improve. You can add other types of equipment, too. We really work up a sweat on it! I was never able to work up a sweat, or FEEL worked out with Wii Fit. It is perfect for my mother in law. She is very over weight and 65 years old, so it's easy enough for her. I have a friend who has arthritic knees and chronic pain, it's great for her too. For someone wanting a good workout, I really don't think it cuts it.

The bike ride and free run can keep you exercising for a good 20 min, but that's about the only one that I would consider exercise since nothing else is sustained. I like the boxing on Wii sports, not on Wii Fit. The step aerobics and advanced step are fun, but again only in 2-5 min time increments, same with the marching band.

I love it. It is not a comprehensive work out system but does have some helpful and fun balance games and yoga. The dance, step, etc is a nice short get the day started work out. What I like most about it is the friendly accountability of it.

I use it more or less daily. I have firbomyalgia and I'm not in shape at all. However, I've been using it since xmas and while in the beginning I had difficulty with certain things I'm not able to put down a 45 minute workout without a problem. I enjoy using it and my daughter, 8 even exercises with me. It's fun in my opinion and while no it may not be the best work out it works, I've already lost a few pounds.

I would agree...you can get a workout but not a "good" workout. I do like the fitness tests and tracking of your progress though.

we are playing it right now, Dd's turn to juggle.

I"m enjoying it, the most excersice I normally get is a quick 10 min walk with the dog. alone if i'm lucky if the kids come it takes twice as long and i go twice as slow.

I like the step areobics and the marching band. I can fit it in and keeping track of my weight sort of helps me to put down that extra cookie.

I wasn't going to make it to the gym for a three hour work out, so this works for me for right now.
