I woke up at 5 am this morning feeling like I was going to be sick. Now while at work, I have pain in between my shoulder blades, pain at then end of my sternum, with no fever. I tried webmd, but for my symptoms it just isn't working. I don't have a cold, but feel like I have had the wind knocked out of me. It all started sudden when I woke up at 5.

Thanks,

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Jennifer how did you do that on webmd?

It is not interfering with my breathing and everything else feels fine.

I know it is not a heart attack. Thanks for all the ideas.

Every single symptom you're describing is a symptom of a heart attack. How do you know that's not what it is?

When I started feeling like that with shoulderblade and sterum pain, it was my gallbladder. I had to have emergency surgery. Go to the hospital NOW. Hope you feel better~!

This warrents a visit to the dr. It could be serious or it could be minor but feeling like you have had the wind knocked out of you is not a good sign. The pain at the sturnum could be acid reflux, it could be gallbladder (along with pain between your shoulderblades) but if anything feels like its interferring with your breathing you should go get it checked out.

I would go be seen, and soon. Some of that is signs of a heart attack in women. (I'm not saying it is, but I would certainly go be seen, just to be sure.)

It could be pneumonia or something else. Either way, we're not doctors and we can't give you a diagnosis, just ideas.

Went to webmd, added your general symptoms from what you said here and it said to go to the doctor immediately...so yeah, get yourself to a doctor.

*hugs* Hope you get to feeling better.

how do you "know it is not a heart attack"? Those are some of the symptoms for women's heart attacks. (Even if you have zero risk factors, it still could be. My daughter had a heart attack at age 16 with zero risk factors and was in extremely good health otherwise) I would be concerned enough to call my doctor.

I found this description of female heart attacks. Your symptoms seem to fall in line with some of these.

Heart Attack Signs in Women
1.Uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the center of your chest. It lasts more than a few minutes, or goes away and comes back.
2.Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
3.Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort.
4.Other signs such as breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.
5.As with men, women’s most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort. But women are somewhat more likely than men to experience some of the other common symptoms, particularly shortness of breath, nausea/vomiting and back or jaw pain.

If you have any of these signs, don’t wait more than five minutes before calling for help. Call 9-1-1 and get to a hospital right away.

go to the ER now-early morning nausea and chest pain? Get it checked out

My friend didn't think his was either-he never smoked, drank or ate fatty foods-rode a bike 120 miles/week-quintuple bypass, BTW, a miracle he lived-because he ignored the signs

Please go to the doctor. That doesn't sound good - kind of like pneumonia. I wouldn't take any chances.

:(

Let us know how things go, okay?

Again, very few here are medical professionals and none of us can see you. You can have pneumonia without a cold and still be able to breathe. You can have a heart attack and be in denial. It could be simple reflux from the burritos you had last night. It could be anxiety and stress. The range of possibilities is enormous. This is a time you should be seeing a doctor -- if not your regular doctor, then urgent care or the ER. None of us here are able to help you.
Good luck!

You may have a disk going out in your upper back.

I have been dealing with that and a few other spine related things since Jan.

When I blew the disk the first time, I felt like I could not take in good deep breathes in at all. And my sternum and ribs hurt like some one has cracked a Baseball into it with a bat.

It was not until a month later my whole right side could not move. My arm went numb. I could not lift, carry over drive with it. I literally could not pinch my hand together that is how numb and done it was.

I had to do months of Chiro and decompression......Only to have it blow the month my treatment was stop. Then three more blew and the fractured piece of my tail bone broke off from where it had healed and flipped under my spine/tail bone area(I am awaiting surgery for its removal).

I would go have the symptoms checked out if you can. They may need to do xrays.

Good Luck, keep us posted.
I guess with all the heart attack stuff from other posting, I would for sure go to ER. They can do EKG and know right then and there what is going on. If it is heart related. Again, I ended up in ER for mine as well. They did EKG. removed heart attack from the list and sent me on my way. It was my Chiro who figured out it was my disks.
