Any advice for relieving teething pain for toddlers. My daughter is telling me "it hurts, mouth hurts" and putting her finger all the way in the back of her mouth and I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain!

Are you sure it's her teeth and not strep throat? It's going around. If it is her teeth I too recommend the teething tablets-they're awesome.

At wal-mart on the vitamin isle they have teething tablets. They are all natural but they help. I know you can give them to babies and they work. I'm sure they would help with 2 year olds too. You just give them the tablets and they desolve on or under the tongue. My boys would go to sleep about 30 minutes after having a dose of these. I would give them these and a dose of tylenol at the same time. I also agree with putting teethers in the freezer and rags with crushed ice. You can also wet a wash rag and put it in the freezer. It will freeze and she can chew on it and suck all the water out of it. I hope this helps.

Two things are great for this.
1.Keep several teethers in the freezer at all times and offer one. The cold helps soothe the pain.
2. A clean wash rag filled with crushed ice will also do nicely.
These two things will also help keep two year olds from biting.
When their teeth hurt they tend to bite.
You can use anbesol or oragel but the children dont like it as well.
The wash rag filled with ice also serves two purposes. One it soothes the pain and the other is that they are getting water, this helps with dehydration as some children tend to run a fever when they teethe.
Hope this helps.

I second the Dr Hylands teething tablets from walmart!!! I LIVED by those things when my babies/toddlers were teething...

I also gave them a dose of tylenol to kind of extend the pain relief as the teething tablets dind't seem to last very long...kind of a one/two punch!!! teething tablets help NOW, tylenol helps more LATER!!!

hope this helps!
hugs

Hello S.,
When my oldest was two, he had terrible teething pain- his pediatrician told me to give him tylenol every 4 hours for 3 days.Break for a day and repeat if necessary. It helped him tremendously.

My doctor prescribed Numbing drops for my son's ears when he had an ear infection. He told me to use them on his teeth also when he starts teething. Tylenol and the drops (about every 2 hrs) really helped my son.
