Hi , nose sucker is ok but like PP have said not more than 5/day , get some saline solution to help keep him clear. The bottles are still 6oz , it is the amount of powder you add that determines how many ounces it is , and I always put the water first to the line and then added the powder , they froth up a bit when shaken but after they settle it should go back to the 6oz line pretty much. And yes you can introduce small pieces of fruit , just keep a close eye on him , other good snacks can be gerber puffs , bread sticks , cuccumber sticks.

my babies 7 months old and i do all those same things and im pretty sure they're all ok. for my daughter's nose i also use "little noses" its a saline nose spray (drops really) and it helps with her congestion. you can find them at a grocery store. my daughter also loves these organic puffs that are fruit flavored. and gerber makes these puffs that look like cheetos but they're maple flavored and are soooo good. i try all her snacks first. there's lots of stuff out there. im starting to let her sample real food too so noodles, pickles (her favorite), cool whip- just little tastes every now and then. oh- and animal crackers! we love those because they're big enough for her to hold and feed herself and they melt in her mouth. they are very messy though but she LOVES them!

1. the sucker is ok but I did read that you shouldn't use it more than like 5 times a day. I can't remember why but i guess it can irritate the nose or something.
2. K don't know about bottles...i only breast fed LOL
3. At 8 months you can try giving him some table food. Just make sure it's small. Gerber as lots of snacks for babies like puffs and some crackers. You can try giving him bananas or canned fruit like pears or peaches etc.

ok my sons are now 8-6 1/2-4- & 2 but I can tell u bout some stuff...

1. DO NOT USE the nose sucker no more then 4-5 times a day do it be for nap or bedtime less irritation & he won't sleep as good if use it to much. And use it when really needed during the day. Also if he is congested and having a hard time sleeping, elevate his upper body, like laying in a recliner sort of way, u can use a blanket folded up, or a firm pillow to elevate him while he takes a nap Not bed time....

2. I used the powder formula too when my sons were teeny poppers... if u add the powder first then fill the bottle to 3oz mix it a little then add the rest of the water, then it will be 6oz's. but what I use to do was add the powder the 3oz of water then the last 3oz's but another ounce of water making it 7oz's, why? because it helps them digest it better.

3. When I started all my boys on solid food teeth or not, I bought these snacks called Apple Wheels (there like rice cakes for babies) man they loved them and me to, they dissolve very quickly but there also great for teething time to, so it's an in-between sort of snack. I also grab these lil puff snacks, a variety like carrots, sweet potatoes, apple, banana, etc those melt on contact and there good as my sons proven the were.. And if I wanted to test out other foods mainly what I cooked, I would put it in a food chopper and make it sort of creamy, clumpy like, or put and apple in the chopper, with some milk or (Gerber apple juice) and serve it up. Or if you feed him the baby rice cereal mix it with a fruit (I did it with the fruit puffs) that u want him to try its like having apple/cinnamon oatmeal but made for an 8 month old mix either with his milk or the flavor juice of the fruit u use or white grape, trust he will like it.

Sorry for the long reply lol Hope everything works out....have any other questions don't be hesitant to ask, I like giving lil advice on these sorts of things. (^_^)

1. Be careful with overusing the nose sucker, it can actually cause irritation which can lead to some swelling and make it worse. I try to limit it to before nap/bedtime.

2. Haha, I often wonder the same thing! So, I'm not really sure.

3. If he is eating thicker/chunkier baby food w/o gagging, then you are probably safe to start with little pieces of food here and there for practice. I usually cut up little pieces of what ever veggie we ate for dinner. With fruits (except banana) make sure they are cooked - with young babies they can't digest all of the fiber in uncooked fruits for a while.

It is only six ounces if it is right to the mark. When weight is added to something liquid then it rises so this is why it comes out to 7oz. The snot sucker is good since he is too young to blow his nose. Give him a warm bath with Johnson and Johnson bedtime calming baby bath. It has good stuff that is relaxing, smells good and will help with his congestion. He could be getting teeth,he is at the right age. If he gets diarreha then be aware that this is also part of teething.I would be careful with fruit. If he does not have teeth to chew he could choke. Try some small pieces of banana, may be some jarred or canned pears. Get him the snacks that melt in the mouth. They sell them in the section where the baby food is. Gerbers makes them. They come in different flavors. You are doing well. God bless

I wouldn't use the nose sucker too much. Like more that 5 times a day. If it isn't working well I would get some saline solution for babies and use that first then suck. You can ask your pharmacist. It is inexpensive. It works great.
That is a 7oz bottle.
Check out www.wholsomebabyfood.com
I think fruit is fine. I give my 6 month old banana, avocado, pears. You can give soft cooked peas, apples(but watch closely) toast, soft cooked broccoli... really check out the website it will walk you through it. You might want to look into baby led weaning too. It focuses on giving baby soft finger food and let them self feed.
Good luck

6oz? Is that enough? My son is 8 months old too and this boy eats 9oz bottles several times a day along with jarred baby food and sometimes an occasional snack since I am still figuring out what he can eat. My son loves jello, my husband and I experimented with a tootsie pop lol he loved it but he don't give him anymore. He also eats these things called Mum mums they look like surf board crackers. they are made for babies and they dissolve in their mouths. I haven't tried fruit but I am sure you can just so long as they are small enough pieces. I was also told by my WIC provider to start my son on a sippy cup by 9 months so he can start being weened off the bottle. :) good luck.

About the your child being sick, try Young Living aromatherapy for
babies for his congestion in a vaporizer.

It is a 7 0z bottle.

Puree his fruit.
Good luck.

If you are having to suck his nose alot, which I was having to do for my daughter until a few days ago we bought this battery powered sucker that works amazing!! It only take a few seconds and it sucks everything out!..
I think introducing fruit is fine right now. When I introduced it to my son I gave it to him first through those mesh things, you can find them at walmart or target. You put the fruit or whatever in and a lid with a handle pops on, give it to him and he can suck the fruit through the mesh.

I always put my powder in first and then filled to the mark called for. O don't think the nose sucker will hurt him but I 2oils keep him under a Vaporizer. My kids free up when you could still give dimeatap and triaminic.:... and it chaffes me to know kids are succeeding because adults can't read instructions! Chwerios and rice chex

I dont know about 1, but 2, I always counted them as 6 oz.
3 as long as he has teeth, and you cut them up, he should be able to have them. We loved the gerber's puffs at that age. they dissolve, so if they dont chew very well, it's ok.

1. sucking boogies out of the nose often does not hurt them, just be careful not to blow air in.

2. if you're filling a bottle to 6 oz, add a touch of water then add powder, mix a bit then add the rest of the water to 6oz and shake well. If you add powder first the water will make it stick to the bottom so add just a touch of water to keep it from sticking, then powder, mix, then rest of water and shake thorough.

3. nope, not too early at all to add fruit or veggies to eat by hand. What I did was use canned fruit cocktail or other dices fruits. They're finger size and soft. With veggies, get canned mixed veggies that are diced. They're very soft and perfect finger size. You can give most anything you eat that is not spicy and is soft. Pieces of breads, mini/micro ravioli (rinse the sauce off for less mess), pastas, shredded cheese, non-crispy tater tots, yams, Gerber veggie puffs/wheels, bananas. Meat isn't necessary nutritionally as the formula gives all iron needed, but do introduce small soft meats to practice with to get ready when baby gets off formula at one year. The first year is trail and error period to prep baby for going off formula at one year so by then they will be used to the texture and taste of foods and can start well balanced meals by age one.
