Sesame Street Live- Good for a 2 Yr Old?

SSL is coming to our town the weekend of my daughter's second birthday. I haven't been to one of these before, but she loves Elmo so I'm interested. But I wonder if she is really of the age that she'd be interested in something on a stage in a big colesium? Or should I save my sheckles and plan on doing it when she's a wee bit older (3 or 4)?

What can I do next?

I saw it when my oldest was 6 and my baby was,,,,well actually a baby. My oldest daughter was a little too old and my baby knew nothing about it. But i think if i took my baby (now2) to see it she would freak out!, in a happy way. She loves elmo and i think seeing him live would be perfect.

We took our son to Nick Jr. Live when he was 2 yrs, 3 months. He LOVED it - he got a bit squirmy between the shows, but he couldn't believe the Wonder Pets were LIVE, right in front of him. A year later he still talks about the date he had w/ his mommy. :)

I think it really depends on the child.

For children in my toddler group (years ago), big come-to-life characters were dicey...some of the children loved it, and some were very frightened and burst into tears, needing adult arms for security. (This was the local cute supermarket bear mascot, as benign as can be, who came to visit.)

Also, if your child is able to hang out and watch something for a while, that's one thing, but if they love to run around, a larger venue could prove to be hair-raising. Many colossiums have tiered seating, so there's also a risk of falls for little ones who busy. And with that many people, there's potential for a running little one to get lost.

Just some food for thought...

Do it!! We took our daughter to Disney on Ice and Nickelodeon Live right around 2 y/o and she loved it! It is so stinkin' adorable to see them get SOOOO excited! I would prep her a little bit about it maybe being loud, dark, etc. My daughter gets freaked by loud noises and new things and she was a little scared at first, but she warmed up pretty quickly.

I think 2-4 is the PERFECT age for that. Sounds fun!

My daughter was 2 1/2. she loved it, and she loved elmo at the time. now, at 3 1/2, she doesn't care much about sesame street as much. as long as you don't think she would get anxious about the noise level, characters (if you have really close seats) or anything, it will be fun. some kids don't like stuff like that. it's a show for kids, so it's ok if they're noisy or don't sit still - no one there does!

My little grandson went when he was 2 and he was thrilled. It was like he was watching a miracle before his eyes. It does depend on the child. My guess is if she loves Elmo she will be happy to see him in person.
