Seeking Refrigerator

Where's the best place to shop for refrigerators? I'd like something with ice and water in the door, preferably a stainless steel type finish (but black would be ok too). It's for a rental house so I don't want to spend a lot, but on the other hand I want something reliable (having had my last Amana fridge die after 7 years).

What can I do next?

A/C Clinic in Richardson off of Beltine is wonderful. It is a small hole in the wall place but they are very reasonable and give great service. The place is family owned and the owner has been in the industry for over 20 years repairing and selling new and old appliances so he can give a great opinion about what is good and not(especially with brands and what breaks down faster or what is more expensive to fix later on down the road). I purchased all of my home appliances from this place and they deliver as well. Ask for Ed he is the owner.

We got our stainless steel at the Sears outlet in Dallas/Addison. It is the second big appliance we have purchased from there and we have had good luck. Good luck your way too!!!

Aside from the regular spots, you could try craigslist.org if you don't mind something older; there are usually lots of used refrigerators that would be cheaper than what you'll find new. I'm looking into fridges myself, and the double door/water models start around 800-900; to go lower, you'd probably have to go used.

We have also used Rodenbaugh's Appliances in Allen and always find great prices and selection. We just bought a dryer there and it was overstocked, so it was brand new in the box. They have a "Scratch and Dent" location in Plano too.

I've always bought my appliances, including refrigerators, from Best Buy or Sear's. All these type of stores have reliable appliances available and good deals when put on special from time to time. Unfortunately, one of the best times for refrigerator SALES is in May/June for most manufacturers in which the retailer passes on the savings. Also, you might check-out SAM's Warehouse, if you're a member, as they have excellent deals from time to time on refrigerators. Hope this helps. L.

We have bought our last 2 refridgerators at the Sears scratch and dent store- around Arapaho and Midway in the Addison area. Who care if the fridge is last year's model or that there is a dent in the back! They still come with a warranty and we love the reliability of the kenmore brand.

Rodenbaugh's in Allen has scratch & dent, floor models and last year model appliances for sale along with new appliances too. They are a long standing family in Allen and extremely honest. They sent us home with suggestions to make our dishwasher work better rather than selling us a new one. When we need one we will definately go back.
They are located on Main Street near the library on the East side in the downtown area.
