Hi S., I saw your post about needing to bring in some money while on bedrest. You mentioned that you watned a "job" while on bedrest and I see that you have received some advice from peope like me who have home based business. So I thought I would pass along an article I wrote about the difference between a stay home job and a stay home business. It is lengthy, but it may help you too clarify and see your long term plans a bit differently.

"One thing you need to think about and decide before you really start looking [into a home based business].... Are you looking for a home based JOB or a home based BUSINESS. A job will pay you for the hours you work...like clerical or crafts, that type of thing. But if your kids are sick and you cant work, you don't get paid. And as soon as you stop that job, your paycheck stops as well. You should NEVER have to invest ANY money to start a legitimate job. So, assuming you don't get "down-sized" or have an unexpected "situation" that keeps you from working and you perform according to their standards - you will get a paycheck each week.

"A Home based business is different than a job, in that, you are your own boss, you decide when you work and when you take a break or vacation. When a HBB is done right (and you should have coaches/mentors to help you EVERY step of the way) you will be able to be with your sick kids and take them to the doctor and NOT lose any money. You can take a vacation when you want without getting someone else's permission. You will also build up what is called residual income. What this means is that money will come to you over and over again eventually, without any additional effort on your part. A HBB requires more work out of you initially and less work the more successful you become. Thus, you will acquire more lifestyle freedoms and the time for your family to enjoy one another and the wealth you have created. Compared to a normal 9 to 5 job, you will have the ability to create wealth very quickly (within 2 5 years). With a HBB there IS an investment to start your business. You will be learning a successful business system that works for the company that you now represent. It takes a great deal of effort for someone to help you start a successful HBB and to share the "secrets" of that business. So because of that, there will be an investment. Just like if you were opening up a traditional business (like a cleaners or a restaurant). But your monthly costs (and initial investment) should be much less than a traditional business. The investment will vary based on what you will be getting for the start-up costs. The value will be determined by what products are included and what training materials you will have access to. I feel it is imperative that you TRUST the person with whom you will be working (the person that told you about a specific HBB). If you don't trust that they are absolutely going to steer you toward success, then it may be hard to follow them when you get discouraged. I would also encourage you to go with your intuition. We all have it...it is put there by God for a reason.

"There are lots of articles online about HBB or Free Enterprise. I would encourage you to learn more about it. Also, check out WWW.RICHDAD.COM Richard Kiyosaki has had his book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" on the New York best sellers list forever (well not FOREVER, but I couldnt find the actually number of monthsbut it has been a loooong time). He is an advocate for Free Enterprise and he explains why at his site. VERY INFORMATIVE.

"In todays "Job" market, there is much competition for the few job openings out there. We will do whatever we can do to get the job that we need in order to best serve our needs and our families needs. Free Enterprise is the one place where people actually WANT to help you. Because by helping other people succeed, we succeed as well. We choose to create success in ourselves and others instead of believing that we all must complete for a limited supply of money and abundance that is in the world."

I hope that this helps you. I run across people everyday that want to be able to create income from home. I hope that you are able to find something that works for you and that you discover the perfect plan for you to be able to provide even better for your kids than you do now.

If you read my profile you will see that I have a HBB also. I would love to help you in any way I can. I have a blast doing what I am doing, and I LOVE helping others be able to do the same. You can take a look at my websites:

www.PictureYourBusiness.org -
that is my information page on starting a home based business. There is an online 20 minute movie that will explain the business (in a nut-shell) to you. If you want to see my customer page (where I send my customers), check out

Again, I know this was long, but I hope this has helped you. Please call me if I can help you in any way. My toll-free # is 888-909-8306 it goes directly into my home office. After my business hours, it goes to voice mail so you can call it anytime.

Warmly and with much Blessings - M. "The Photo Chic"
