Hi G.,

I am not familiar with Work At Home United. It is great that you are cautious about investing your money and time.

My partners and I have an educational workshop that we provide (at no charge) in a webinar on Monday evenings called Women's Wealth Initiative. If you would like to join us, email me at ____@____.com and I can give you the details.

Hi G.-
I am always scared of big corporate 'work at home' programs. I found the greatest work from home, MOM-owned company about 6 years ago and I just love them to pieces. The company is based in Springfield, OH and it is called THE HAPPY SOUL. (www.thehappysoul.com) We specialize in products for bath/spa/aromatherapy--natural & WONDERFUL. The 3 ladies who run the company are incredibly great business women and even greater Moms. The company is thriving...even in today's marketplace. You don't have to 'invest' a million dollars to get started...and it is soo fun and easy, easy instant cash. I was skeptical....and I've been with them for years now. Check them out--Jen Knoth is the person you'd talk to. Check out their website. Good luck!!! K.

After having spent 7 years in direct sales, I can tell you that you need to ask yourself 2 questions. 1. Are you interested in a long term opportunity with huge potential or 2. Are you looking for quick money?

Compensation plans vary greatly with at-home businesses. With multi-level marketing businesses you usually get a percentage of your retail sales and some incentives to bring people into your business. If you JUST want retail profit, that might be ok for you. Look at who pays the most retail profit ~ but remember, when you stop selling, you stop earning.

If you look at a product brokerage and/or internet marketing business there is still retail profit built in, but also commissions based on your team. Look for the easiest "team" to build and the most products available.

I have evaluated many at-home businesses and believe that with 35 million products, low start-up costs and an outstanding web site provided to each distributor, I have found the right one for ME. If you want more information, I will gladly tell you. However, I understand that we are NOT suppose to talk about our businesses on mamasource.

Good luck!

When I was looking for a work at home option I looked for a company that had a low start-up cost vs. how soon I could make my investment back. The only thing I can suggest to you is the thing I know best, and that is Lia Sophia. Our starter kit contains 24 versitile pieces of jewelry and all the supplies that you would need to do your first 6-8 shows for just $149. I figured that if I only did one $500 show that I would be more than even. Not only would I have my money back, but I would have over $1000 worth of jewelry too!

There are lots of other questions to ask too, like: Do you get paid on 1/2 price items, do you have to have inventory, do deliveries, spend your hard earned money buying product, does the company pay your state sales tax, what incentives does this company give me to help me get bookings, motivate me and entice my customers. I asked them all and I got the answers I was looking for. I have to admit that I wasn't really into jewelry before I started selling! It was the business behind the jewelry that I liked. (Now that I have the jewelry, I enjoy dressing up my yoga pants and Gap T-shirts by throwing on a necklace.)

Times are really tough here for our family. We have 3 young children and my husband has terrible hours. He sells cars, or I should say, that he use to sell cars. We live in Michigan where unemployment is the highest in the country and on top of that our county has the highest unemployment rate in the state! Had I not listened to the little voice inside my head 3 years ago that told me that I could do this, I don't even want to think where we would be right now. Last month he only netted $400! He was missing a zero at the end of that! Well, that was what he use to make anyway.

If you are interested in checking out lia sophia my website is www.liasophia.com/rebeccaw There is an interesting news clip on there from CNBC.com that you might want to watch. My contact info is also listed if you would like more info.

Good luck,

R.

Hi G.-

In response to this being a pyramid scheme, well Beth did not get all of her research correct. This was already discussed though. As for pressure: I only present the information, and I never pressure. Im sure there are some people out there that do that as there is in any business, but that is called GREED. You choose how you want to market and in the end you have yourself to answer to. I feel Melaleuca's principals are strong and I 100% believe in them. The biggest story, and I am living proof is how people's children no longer suffer from eczema, allergies, asthma. This is such a blessing! The support has been absolutely unbelievable with this team. AND please someone tell me what company gives a 120 day money back guarantee? Plus they guarantee all their products for 60 days. Who does that?? Only a company that knows they have an outstanding product. If everyone was unhappy and was returning their product they would go broke. It speaks for itself!! My original post is below.

Yes it is a very legit business. I work for them and they have changed my life. No more money worries! No large investment required like all those other companies, and 100% risk free!! Not only do I make money, but I also save money with them. If you would like more information, go to my website at:

http://workathomeunited.com/safemommy

Click on Get More Info NOW! and I will call you to set up an appointment. It really is a wonderful company! You owe it to yourself to check it out. Plus, it's risk free, what do you have to lose?

Hi Gerelyn,

In response to Beth's comment I must say, she probably thinks she's helping you. Though she might have gone to a conference call, our business is in no way a pyramid. Those are illegal and not at all in line with Melaleuca's high standard of ethics.

You deserve a look at this yourself so that you can see. As for them making you buy a "bunch of products", we simply shop for the things our family needs.

I hope this helps clear things up for you.

M.

Hi G.,

I've been working with another legitimate Team who works with the same company. The monthly residual income alone, makes it worth having.

I love the whole concept! Get rid of toxic products in your home, improve your family's health by replacing those things with a natural alterative that costs about the same or less than you were paying before. Share the idea with others, and get paid everytime they shop.

There's no selling, no parties, no inventory or costly investments, no MLM or Pyramid.

In these depressed times, people are cutting corners to make ends meet. Still, everyone buys toothpaste and personal care products, laundry products, cleans their homes, and so much more.

Our family is now asthma and allergy free because of this. Many other health issues improved as well.

Create a healthier home and earn a great income too!

Hi G.,

I have been involved in multi-level marketing for 15 years. Why there is such an abundance of these companies is because there is something for everyone. The important thing is for you to find a company you believe in with products or services you can sell with your enthusiasm, as opposed to a hard sell. I fell into a newer company called SendOutCards and I've become very passionate about it. I encourage you to check it out: www.sendoutcards.com/44251 (my personal website).

Best of luck with your decision. You have lots of choices. You must be interested in workathomeunited or you wouldn't have sought out feedback. Do your research and go with your gut and your heart!

I looked into this. I even went through the phone conference. You have to buy a bunch of their products every month and then try to get your friends/family/strangers to do the same. It's bascially a pyramid scheme even though they tell you it isn't. In my opinion, you should never have to spend money to make money.

Hi G.! There are so many Direct Selling companies out there and most are good or even great! I have not heard of this company but I have heard of Melaluca and it sounds like that is what they sell.

I work for Mary Kay Cosmetics and Mary Kay is not a Multi Level Company and it is not expensive to start and you do not have to carry inventory! I have been selling Mary Kay for 4 1/2 years and I make anywhere from $2000 - $4000 a month. I drive a free car and Mary Kay pays two thirds of my car insurance.

It costs $100 to get started and with that $100 you receive over $323.00 in full retail size products plus training tools and all of the supplies you need to do facials and skin care classes.

In Mary Kay we make 50% on everything we sell which I believe is the highest commission in the Direct Selling World. We order our products at the %50 off price and we make out 50% profit when we sell the products. There are not a ton of products so that is nice and Mary Kay does offer a 90% buyback guarantee if you have any unused products and decide that you no longer want to sell Mary Kay. Mary Kay also pays the sales tax to the state of Michigan so you do not have to worry about that.

If you are interested please go to my website which is www.marykay.com/djkiser and my phone number is also on there. I would love to get you started! Now is the best time to come into Mary Kay with the Holidays approaching and so many women wanting to look their best at this time of year! Even in a bad economy women will still buy their skin care and cosmetics as it helps them to feel better especially when times are tough! Good luck in whatever you do but please check out my website. You can also get more career information on my site!

I have been really happy working with PartyLite. Their profit program is great and they pay weekly. There are great incentives for consultants, hostesses, and guests. Best of all, it's free to start. All you have to do is hold a "starter show" with $350 in sales. Check out my website www.partylite.biz/michellegus and click on 'opportunities'. My contact information is on my website. Give me a call if you are interested in talking more. There is also a Regional meeting in Troy on October 29th...I can give you more details if you are interested.
